The pit and floor seating is under a roof, and the rest is lawn seating. I saw Nine Inch Nails there last month. I must say that Camden is a shit hole, but the venue is actually pretty nice. You can look here if you need more info: http://www.tweetercenter.com/philadelphia/

Re: 2006/09/28 - Camden, NJ - Tweeter Center

I hope the lawn isn't closed. And I sure as *hell* hope that this isn't the closest they're coming to NYC. They've still only released a small chunk of the dates, so I'm almost certain they'll still play more venues closer to home. I'm ready to hit up just about anything within a 150 mile radius.

Does the Camden Tweeter Center have a general admission / standing room area? Or is it all seats?

theres a VERY small "pit" if you can call it that...
Dont even think youll get in there unless you win ticketrs from
a radio station...

Its kind of pie shaped.. like a quarter slice of pie....
Theres two sections of seats, a front and back section thats under
a roof...

at the back is a lawn (no roof), which will eventually become a dustcloud.
so dont wear anything you care about (shoes, shirt, etc.)

when do tickets go on sale????

I went there for Pearl Jam two months ago, I kind of like it, its an amphitheater type thing, perhaps the ceiling is a bit too low, can't imagine how the lawn is gonna be for this one.

I saw A Perfect Circle here in the 3rd row dead center and it was one of the most amazing shows I have ever seen. I love this place and the waterfront looks beautiful at night.

If I join toolarmy.com would I have a chance to get tickets at a presale time?

Tickets for shows a week before this one go on sale this Saturday, so my logical guess would be that Camden tickets will start selling in another week or so. Does that seem reasonable?

Where did you hear about the tix? Do you know if the lawn will be open (I imagine it will)?
Whether they announce more shows or not, I'll be going to this one, and two-fisting the beer when I get there.

Some of the best lighting I've ever seen at a show. That show was uncharacteristically short, though.

Camden is a great venue as long as you know what you're doing in terms of getting in and out of there. Great bands in front of you on stage, Philly skyline to your left. You can't lose.

Will be interesting to see Tool in an ampitheater-type venue.

Re: 2006/09/28 - Camden, NJ - Tweeter Center

i had a feeling they would play the Tweeter first. they close the lawn in september so im not assuming it will be open. im hoping to get really good seats for it.

i was at the NIN show, directly in the middle front of the lawn and the lighting was amazing. except for when the gate light thingy started to flicker. im gonna check NIN out again when they come back.

Re: 2006/09/28 - Camden, NJ - Tweeter Center

i'm surprised no one has actually called the tweeter center and asked WHEN the tix will be going on sale...

but, i took the liberty of doing so just now, and she told me they go on sale this sat the 22nd at 11 am (altho it could be 10 am since all other tool shows are going on sale at 10 am)...

either way, its this saturday...

awesome, ive never been there....but id really love for them to start announcing some ny shows.......a couple days ago i had a dream, and in it, tool announced they were playing THREE ny shows hahah....that would be sweet....

Re: 2006/09/28 - Camden, NJ - Tweeter Center

the tweeter center is the only place near philly that's big enough to have a major concert that was actually built to sound good for a concert. the wachovia center sounds like crap. everywhere else is too small.

the tweeter center is a nice place to see a band as long as you dont drive. http://riverlinkferry.org/ get dircetions here to take the ferry. it's nice to chill out on the boat after a concert sober up a little before you have to dive home. and you dont sit in traffic for an hour.

the city of Camden is a shithole but the waterfront is a nice place to go.

Ticketmaster doesn't even have this show listed. Where is everyone getting ticket info from?

Are you sure the ferry will run late enough to get back after the show?

I'm probably just gonna hop on a PATCO train with my bike, that's always pretty easy.

Yes, the ferry will run for at least a half hour after the show. that is why they have the ferry (for the most part). The line to get on the ferry after the show usually gets pretty long depending on the size of the show. While waiting in line for the ferry sometimes it takes a few ferry trips (back and forth NJ-PA) to get on. you'll be fine. If I go to the Tweeter for a show I only take the ferry if it is just a small group of people. The'll probably be 10-15 of us going to this show so there is no sense for everyone to pay the ferry fee (I forget the price these days, probably around 8 bucks). its cheaper to drive over the bridge and pay for the parking, albeit a few groups of cars.

BTW - the lawn WILL be open. NO WAY will the lawn be closed for this show. all shows in camden a week earlier than this have the lawn open.

Also - one of the nice things about the tweeter center that you can't get in a normal arena is seating next-to-each-other.(All of the lawn seating is general admission). The best seats in the house are, of course, under the roof (esp if it rains). At the tower theater show in May my buddies and I were all over the place because we had single tix.

just wondering, anyone walk over the Ben Franklin bridge from Philly to the tweeter center? How long a walk is it, and is it relatively safe at night.

Re: 2006/09/28 - Camden, NJ - Tweeter Center

last time I went I took Greyhound from Port Authority to Philadelphia, then took the ferry, its walking distance to the ferry (about 15-20 minutes?) However walking across that bridge could be an option, it looks freaking big but how long could it take, 15 minutes maybe? I dont know. There is also that subway thing but that shit had me confused, you have to switch trains etc(3 different trains I think).

just to clarify - walking distance from the ferry to the bus station, the ferry drops you off right at the center. The only clusterfuck occurs after the show when everyone runs for the ferry. The ferry keeps on coming back as long as people are still waiting.

Hold tight NYC peeps. I'll put money there will be at least 1 (if not 2 shows) at Continental and most likely 1 at Nassau. If you care, DC will probably pop up as well.
