Since the majority of the Theater show's set-up ended on July 9th, when is TOOL going to begin implementing the Arena Tour Stage Set-up/setlist/etc. They didn't do it during Street-scene, and they didn't do it in Fresno, hopefully they'll start soon.
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
Has anyone heard anything about Tool coming to Denmark during the Euro winter-tour? They DID say "see you in November" at Roskilde this year, but it seems they've forgotten all about it :(
Man, everything about this band is delayed. Albums, stage set-ups, videos, websites.
What a bunch of lazy bastards. :D

they called alex grey two weeks before thier last arena tour to help design the stage. he made them seem like last minute people. in other words, you'll know when you see it.

Australian tour announcment tommorow...
Just listening to triple J (not exactly sure why) and Miff said to listen to Jay and The Doctor tommorow morning for some news about Tool. I can't imagine this being anything other than a tour announcement.

Yesterday ticketmaster had tickets for tools sysdney show listed.. but they aren't there today :S.. they said sydney tickets go onsale the 25th of Aug and the concert was to be january 29th from memory.. dont know why its not there now :S:(
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
Rubb said in the 10,000 Days forum that there is going to be an announcement re: Tool on JJJ tomorrow morning during Jay and the Doctor, so I'm guessing this is the long awaited tour announcement.
I wonder how many Aussies can make a relevant post in this thread? Mine should be #7...
Anyway, to reiterate what others have said, it's great to finally hear some Australian-related Tool news... well tomorrow at least!
Just to clarify the ticketmaster thing mentioned above by hellboy etc:
Ticketmaster had Tool down to play at the Myer Music Bowl in Melbourne on Wednesday January 31st, 2007. Tickets were to go on sale at 9am Friday August 25th. This has since been removed from the ticketmaster website i.e. it can no longer be found via a search for 'Tool' or any other derivatives of the band's name etc.
As hellboy has pointed out on his site www.fourtheye.net, you would expect Tool to be playing at the 2007 Big Day Out given this info so far.
Yes, I would rather see Tool do their own separate tour instead of playing at the BDO plus sideshows but we don't live in a perfect world - just be grateful that something big is gonna be announced tomorrow...

^ It matters to me! A short set, audience packed with fans of whatever other boring bands are playing and a greatest hits setlist < A real Tool show. That being said... I'll take anything over nothing. I missed them last time.
I'm hoping I can see them more than once while they're here... if the finances permit.
Chances of a NZ side show seem pretty low if its BDO although on the up side if they do have a sideshow it would probably be at Galatos which has a capacity of around 800-1000 so that would be pretty special.
Finally! i've been waiting to hear some news about touring aus for so long. i'll probably save my money and see them at BDO and a sideshow for the better atmosphere.
Hey Rubb., do you remember my kind offer a few months back? You're welcome to stay in Sydney if you can somehow manage to get out of Tasmania... do they have planes that fly down there...?
The thing that currently frustrates me is that several people in Australia (namely those in the know at Triple J) already know what this great Tool-related news is and won't divulge anything until tomorrow morning - oh well.
I'm tipping Tool will do side-shows in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne if they play at the Big Day Out in Australia. Adelaide and Perth may only get BDO shows but hopefully Tool will do something extra. I don't know what they might do in New Zealand other than the BDO at Ericson/Mt. Smart/Auckland/NZ Warriors homeground etc. stadium...

Well if they are doing BDO shows, then I'll be trekking down to Sydneyto catch the BDO and then a sideshow. I'll see you in Sydney Matt....
Wouldn't surprise me if they did an Auckland Sideshow btw, normally the headline act of the BDO does Auckland, Sydeny and Melbourne, and less frequently Brisbane and Perth. Sucks to be a Tasmanian though.....except for the living in Tasmania bit - I could deal with that.

Yarr mang. On the off chance that I go to Sydney i will graciously accept that offer. Yeah, there's a few rusty old planes down here.

that's my guess too. not so many bands seem to do side shows in all the BDO cities now.

I've seen Lateralus performed so many times. It's a GREAT live song but I'd rather see Flood or Swamp Song or Eulogy again! It's been years since they performed so many of my Aenima favorites. How amazing would it be to see Jimmy, or Pushit, or even Third Eye? I am all for some of their best work being peformed. How about a 3 hour show to satisfy everyone? How about a series of 6 stadium shows, in regional locations, played to 60,000 tool fans, with a 4 hour set list, with a 30 minute intermission to give the band a break?
Now THAT would be something to see. They easily have 4 hours of music worth seeing.

Fully agree. The only songs that I haven't seen that I feel I must are Third Eye, Eulogy, Flood and 10,000 Days.
