Re: Photo of the Day

My shot of the day from yesterday:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/jeroth/292228606/

Nikon D70s
18-70mm Lens at 34mm
ISO800
Aperture Priority - F8
1/1250 SS

Went out for a last minute half hr shoot yesterday evening, light was bad, and I dont have a tripod yet so the noise in the sky Isnt helping anything, but I thought what the well, might as well upload it cos I personally like the tones and composition.

Thought a few of you might also enjoy this one:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/jeroth/288473714/

Nikon D70s
18-70mm Lens at 18mm
ISO800

Re: Photo of the Day

Found these old broken down houses today, thought they might look ok in a photo. Fairly happy with the way they turned out, used a bit of PS to give them that darker, erie feel tho.

You're getting some nice clear shots with the n70... are you using a tripod and remote trigger?

Want to eventually be doing some serious photomanip and making more art than photographs.

That's pretty neat then. I got myself a canon 350D a little over a year ago (yeah, I went with the canon), and I've been having fun with it ever since. Your photos all look pretty good, I'd say you've got a knack for it. Props.

Yeh def, it makes my landscape shots have that tripod and trigure look, when I can afford a tripod hopefully i wont have to sharpen, or at the most do a veeery slight pass. Yeh I was stuck between the 350D and D70s, personally Nikon is my preference, but Canon's just as good, different cameras for different people I rekon. I like the results ur getting with your 350D too btw, you got awesome stuff up, keep up the good work! My two favorites of yours atm are:

Re: Photo of the Day

Yes we do have some pretty killer ones. Most of the time I miss it cuz I'm just getting to work. Thanks for the compliments! Here's one from a wedding that same day:

Exposure: 1/200 at f/4

Nothing super spectacular about the shot except a real cool location to have a wedding. Good times.

Cheers man, I really get a kick out of trying for a nice photo. Occasionally one works out, but it's always fun trying.

That looks like an awesome spot. Down in melbourne we've had a very dry winter, so a day like that wouldn't have been so unusual. That shot reminds me a lot of Lakes Entrance in Victoria, although I'm pretty sure that's not it... Where was it taken?

Thank you for your comment. It was a spontaneous shot after class yesterday while the winds were gusting around 50mph. My favorite source of light is by far the sun, and the only editing done was a slight levels adjustment and a little cloning to eliminate microscopic dust on my sensor.
