I think the more you speculate and formulate expectations with Tool.. the more disappointed you will be. That's also why I think 10,000 Days wasn't received as well as it could have been.

I speculated my ass off before 10,000 Days was released and I still thought it was a very good album. It's just funny because nothing I expected/predicted came true. The lesson I learned: if you like Tool then there is a pretty decent chance you will like whatever they put out next... maybe not as much as Aenima or Lateralus, but I wouldn't want them to put out the same record twice right?

If you go by what was said in '06, a bunch of people were looking for Lateralus II. Not me, but I saw a lot of disappointment to that effect.

That's what I'm excited for the next album. They keep growing, I wonder what else they have in store for us! Shit, even if they are regressive I'd probably still dig it anyway.

Yeah, a Pink Floyd cover would be epic, especially of Shine On You Crazy Diamond or Time (Danny intro solo!) Salival II likely won't be happening, but IF it happened, and it's a big if, fans will be drooling to buy it. That's where It got the name "Salival."

In that case, Salival 2 will be called: "Semen".

Well it looks like the big thing is a summer tour. I can only hope for a slightly different set list and maybe an hour and forty-five min. set, tops. I also hope I am wrong and they do something beyond my wildest dreams, and that's not going to happen because I have taken a lot of acid.

if i close my eyes and press on my eyelids i see lasers. last thing i remember was leaving the parking lot of the grateful dead concert in cincinnati, i was trapped in a spiral parking garage for hours....a silver microbus and glow sticks lit my way....luckily i was saved by a nice lady that was selling fresh falafels and maps to the stars.

I don't think the tour is the big thing. I think the tour is a warm up for the recording process.

it would be pretty sweet if they play the new record that they've been working on in it's entirety for the summer tour. that would be really epic.

No way that's happening. Maynard's only been back for like what, 3 weeks? There's no way he already has lyrics for a whole album.

all i know is i got goosebumps THINKING about listening to the to the new tool album. whenever it comes out. i dont think any band but tool could do this

They aren't going to play new material on this tour in the form of throwing out a complete new song for the fans to hear. I'd be very shocked if they did. But pay close attention to their segues and you just might hear something new as a teaser. They played the beginning of Wings for Marie on the Lateralus tour as a segue/intro.

Good call. And I still don't get the criticism. 10,000 Days is an excellent album. I know this is heresy to many, but I still listen to it more than Lateralus. Too many people dismissed 10,000 Days too quickly. I wasn't exactly enthralled with it the first time I listened. I remember really loving Jambi and Right in Two, but saying "What the fuck is that?" to the falsetto start of The Pot and not quite knowing if I liked or disliked Rosetta Stoned. It all grew on me quickly, though, as I peeled through the layers.

It's a great album. Period.
