The Embryo 2 & sonnyboy,
Well, APC is on the Lolla Chile and Brasil line up. The Chile festival is 4/6-4/7/13. I think that suggests that there's a good chance they'll be on the Coachella line up. Not Tool, but APC would still be bad ass. Who knows, Tool could still end up their as well. May May has done it before. However, this time if he does double dip, I bet it will be with Puscifer, who's also on the line up.
Pearl Jam is headlining, and I think they could end up at Coachella as well.

for what it's worth, I just read on the Coachella board some "promoter" in Europe claims that Tool will not play European festivals in 2013, therefore assuming the album won't be out by then.

Given that it's October now, and APC are touring in the first few months of 2013, it's pretty safe to say at this stage Tool won't be hitting the studio any time before May next year. Sadly we've most likely got at least another 12 months to wait before we see a new Tool album.
Still, the wine harvest is pretty much finished now, so I guess there's a slim chance that Tool could record very soon, but it just feels unlikely to me.

So everyone keeps saying. Not to say it won't be, but personally I doubt anyone at Tool has made such a decision.

And I don't think they will, it's stupid for bands to announce any such thing, or declare some sort of finality. It never, and I mean never, serves any sort of positive purpose.

With Maynard being all about the "independent" thing with Puscifer, I still hold hope that this won't be the LAST Tool album, just the last one on a major label.

First off, I could get with PJ headlining Coachella. I've only seen them once and, although not a huge fan, I thought they put on a good show.
And of course I am on board with anything May May related at Coachella. Ya know, just an initial thought on it is I would be just as stoked to see Puscifer at Coachella as APC. I love APC. But I have only seen Puscifer twice and feel like they have really gelled as a unit.
But look, ruling out Tool on anything is a waste of time. They've made a career out of keeping people guessing. If they're announced at Coachella for a headliner slot, I won't be surprised. Not in the least.

Cool info thanks for the heads up. Funny how overseas festivals book acts so far in advance compared to the U.S.
I don't think APC has enough drawing power to be anything but a sun(sub) headliner. They will probably get an hour..
Puscifer might get a higher slot in one of the tents..

Maynard's latest Phoenix New Times entry:
http://blogs.phoenixnewtimes.com/upo...eau_myself.php
I love a good comedy. Browsing through mental notes of quotable material, apropos for tedious moments brought on by the petty, the narrow minded, and the desperate, keeps me questionably sane.
Snippets from films like Talladega Nights, Super Troopers, and The Jerk can have an almost Fountain Of Youth effect on me when applied to said moments. Other films supply the occasionally necessary yet unintentional gut laugh, such as Battlefield Earth, Godfather III, and the entire Twilight series. (Side Note and Fun Fact on the Twilight Series: The scripts WERE NOT randomly generated by an iPhone app or by a team of Emo Eunuchs on LSD. They were, in fact, intentionally written that way. This was not an experiment as I had originally assumed upon viewing.)
The reason I bring all this up is that I've been buried under grapes for seven solid weeks now. It's been a month and a hefty half of fantastically productive 14-hour days with some very promising juice for the 2012.
I miss my trips down to the 602 to dine and complain poetically with Mr. Wexler at NoCa or to dine and plot some twisted yet simple dinners with Mark Tarbell. I needed a break and I needed to get out of the house/bunker, but there's no way I can be two hours away from the winery this time of the year.
So I checked in with my local theaters to see if there were any just-above-marginal films to which I could set my brain on cruise control. Doesn't have to be a zinger. Just has to have fresh-popped corn and sugar stuff. I am fully capable of manufacturing and rationalizing any excuse to watch a crap film as long as I can go face-deep in a popcorn container large enough to require a child safety warning. Double-fisted side of red licorice, please. (Children, be warned. If you kick my chair, interrupt my two-hour vacation, or attempt to stick your grubby booger paws anywhere near my popcorn or licorice, you will become the poster child for that bucket's safety warning. Please refer to the Robert Downey Jr./Juliette Lewis scene in Due Date. Copy?)

With all due respect to Tool, there is NOTHING like Rush hitting on all cylinders. All pushing 60 and still blowing minds with a 3 hour 29 song set.
and their best new material since Moving Pictures...
WOW

My sources tell me there should be a Tool announcement sometime in the next week or so. It won't be about the new album though - apparently there's nothing to report there except that they're still writing.
My guess is that the Pot DVD is getting close to release.

I actually have a 10K Days vinyl. Maroon double lp in single slip case. Says in small primt not for commercial sale. Sounds good, too.
