I havnt really been too keen on the past TOOL videos. All have been similar in style: strange alien creatures doing obscure things, tendency to have a blueish hue, set in minimal enclosures. I hope that with this new album Adam will breath new life into the videos as well.
I thinking the same thing. I don't think its possible for me to not be dissapointed. Oh well. I just picture CNN and everything other news station when I listen to it. "Stare into the TV, Stare like a junkie"
Yeah, seems weird that the extent of Adam's creative vision for the videos has remained remarkably stagnant over the course of 14 years, while his (and the band's) musical vision has evolved so drastically.

they could put the track to an exact copy of the schism, or aenima video and id be happy. if danny makes it, it will still be exponentially more creative than ANYTHING showed in the history of mtv and etc.... worth watching even if it is similar to other thier other videos.
Muck up the video? How do you 'muck up' art? You might not -get- it... but thats not mucking it up. Either way, Tool video's always seem to work for me, the overall themes work well.
I agree, just because they are often surreal on first glance,it doesnt mean Adam is repeating himself. After all, who are we to say what a Tool video should be. Look at Parabola...classic video which merges all previous methods into one seemless effect.I wouldn't have them any other way;they always perfectly convey the message/theme of the song...yes even "Hush".
Adam worked a lot with chet zar and cam de leon in the past. Look at their websites and youll understand why they may seem similar. This time around adam says he is working diligently with alex grey.
You don't like sober or prison sex? I think prison sex is easily the best (and most artistic) video they've made. I can't get past the funny things on strings connected to the guys head in parabola, but the part during parabol and the ending does kick ass.
If it has more influence from alex grey, I think it's going to be pretty awesome

Yes, it´s possible to muck up art, or should I say "art".
I would really, really, love to see a tool video with every memeber in the band, jamming out on there instruments, with a tool artistic twist, just hyperdellic, futuristic, obscure, sick kinda way?
anyone agree?
anyone agree?
-(FOR THIS VIDEO)-
