I quite like the song pioneers by From Automn to Ashes, but only recently deided to figure out what it means. I noticed a posting on the net which is as follows:
Quote:
Every generation grows up spending their entire young lives under foot in the stale institutions of those preceding them. The hunger for something new and the desire to prove that our lives have meaning through the destruction of the traditions that suffocated us as youth.
Every new generation is successful in resentfully tearing down the old and building it anew... but then so are their descendents.
So, what's the point?

which led me to write this...
Pioneers - Sep 27 2010
without change, without revolution
the mind and the state stagnate with old polution
waste recycled from each generation
lost causes in the name of tradition
to all the pioneers who seek justification
create avenues, that's our evolution
the barring of change is the challenge we face
brought about by far too many red states
the ostracization in the country you live in
if you admit that you're not christian
and the barrier faced
has a name and a face
to which we can all squarely place all of the blame
for the mind that dares question
the status quo's lesson
is our fonteir, and our most precious mission:
the omission of religion,
the end of tradition,
and our liberation from conservatism
