also, instead of reading that long-winded garbage I posted, you could just read this post
Eh- I mostly like your long-winded garbage. Don't mind Embryo bumping this thread either. In a general good mood tonight knowing dates are getting closer.
Looks like TM released some seats tonight for SD btw. Nothing I brought up looked all that great, but still might be something there if anyone is interested in a single through TM.

"Yeah Tool is fucking amazing. But there’s a big chunk of their fan base that think they’ve become thought provoking geniuses just from listening to them."
= Fucking awesome.
These kids nowadays have such a watered down punk culture. Back in my day *puffs on corn cob pipe, adjusts monocle* we listened to The Dead Kennedys, Bad Religion, Minor Threat, The Misfits, Fear, Social D, Circle Jerks, M.O.D.....good stuff. Now they call shit like Green Day and SUM41 punk rock. Ugh.
Don't forget X and The Minutemen..
Knowing that Jello and his excellent new band are opening in SF gives that show a whole new level of anticipation and excitement.
This rivals King Crimson for me. That was killer... but Jello playing for the home crowd...man o man that is going to be special.

i know it was mentioned somewhere around here, but its way too early to go searching. who's opening in Vancouver tonight??

If anyone has any extra posters and wants to do some trading I picked up a couple from Houston and Cedar Park (signed and unsigned). I figured there would be a lot of bad ass posters this tour so I bought the extras for trading purposes. PM me if your interested.
Well I guess we know why 46&2 wasn't played the second night at Red Rocks and the show was a bit shorter. Good stuff from an interview that Adam did with LA Weekly:
"The show seems to be about illustrating that all the people involved are not just musicians but artists in the broader sense.
Adam Jones: Oh, absolutely. I've got a funny story for you. Tool was in Denver at Red Rocks and it was the second show we played. Those shows went great; it was really fun. But I was trying to hook up with Buzz from the Melvins because they were playing a show at the Ogden Theater and I realized we're not going to make the show, they're going to be done. I was like, "Hey, I'll try to get out as fast as possible to see you guys," and they said, "Ok, we'll wait for you." So I was telling everyone, "I really wanna go see the Melvins," and they said I could do a runner after the show -- they'd get me right off stage, into a van, and get me out of there. [Laughs] I jump in the van after our show with Maynard and there are two cop cars. They put on their lights so we had this police escort going 80 or 90 miles an hour down the freeway to go see Buzz from the Melvins.
[Laughs] My god.
Adam Jones: [Laughs] It was the most rock cliche moment of my life. It was really funny. Those guys were all laughing at me. I told Buzz and Buzz goes, "Yeah, I had one of those once but they took me to jail." "
Adam Jones is like a fucking messiah in my life, so to hear that be his most rock cliche moment up 'til this point, it's solidifying his place in my heart. <3<3

Adam rules. He was all smiles at RR. Now we know why.
Funny that Tool and The Melvins get booked on the same night in the same town...
The Melvins played in Iowa on the 27th and had an off day on the 28th, so I was guessing that Buzzo might make a guest appearance during Stinkfist on Monday night at Red Rocks since they were playing in Denver on the 29th.
Listening to the Regina, SK show right now. Canadian hicksville over here! Maynard before Intolerance: "I'm not a mathematician, but I would speculate that we wrote this next song before your parents were born."

anybody else have that post TOOL show depression thing happening...I've attended as many shows in my area as possible and can't afford to see them anywhere else and know it's gonna be along wait until next time. There should be some kind of stupid name for that like S.A.D.(Seasonal Affective Disorder)thats one of the dumbest things ever.

Holyshit did my luck just get better. Went to a music store today and picked up a copy of Salival and a lateraius vinyal both mint condition. Good deal? Only cost 170$ total. What do u guys think did I get ripped off?

That's Regina for ya. Don't clump all of Canada in with them, not fair

nope! Leaving for vegas in less than one weeks time. After the LA dates I'll have that feeling. But I will also be scouring the net for the bootlegs.

oh yeah, I know it's a big country. There's the same sort of distinction down here too ;)

well, how much did you pay for each? Lateralus can be had new for around $35, so you paid $135 for Salival? If it's the DVD, it's on the pricey side unless it's mint.

yes, im glad im not the only one... id give anything to go to another show but theyre way too far away. theres a bunch of people that didnt get to see them at all so we should consider ourselves lucky....and hopefully well get a new album early next year and new tour.
These little electronic jam/intros are really cool, would be pretty neat if there's stuff like that on the new album.
The one they did last night before lateralus was sooo trippy and Justin was really getting into it. Makes me think it could be some future material. It was a somewhat dark side of the moon synth/trippy jam. I think Adam and Maynard were both doing synth work in there and I think Danny was playing the electro drum beat. And Justin was just kneeling and rocking the fuck out.
Needless to say, seein them live kind of rekindled something and gets ya fired up again.
Can't wait for tonight in Seattle!!!!!! I scored my ticket 2 days ago! I thought I wasn't going to be able to. My neighbor won front row tickets and my awesome wife bought one off of him!!!!! Front row for Tool!!!!

I'm starting to get a bit pissed at myself that I have not thought this tour through a bit better. My scheduling for it has been lazy. I could have made both SF dates and the SD date if I just put my mind to it. Instead, I thought I had 3 (now 2) dates in LA and that would be good enough. As the time draws near, I'm realizing that was a flawed approach. I'd love to see those Bay Area shows.

I really should. But I'm thinkin if I pull off either SD or Vegas it would be acceptable.
Side note- I'm gonna go ahead and fess up- I brought up row 9, section R for SD on TM yesterday and did not buy it. Gone now. God my head is aching from the stupidity of it all. On the plus side, I used that last minute money to take myself and the wife over the Bowl to see Todd Rundgren play a tribute to the Beatles. His performance of Everybody's Got Something To Hide 'Cept For Me and My Monkey is almost enough salve to get past using money for another Tool show. Almost
Edit- here's a decent upload of Being For the Benefit of Mr. Kite as performed by Todd last night
Err... damn I guess I am straddling that off Tool-topic line again. Umm... hey did you know Todd was a big Tool fan?? Yup! Produces albums like Skylarking and also great taste in awesome bands like Tool!

hey somewhat off topic. i manged to buy a mint edition of both salival and lateralus vinyal yesturday at a record store in san fransico. Today i went to berkeley and guess what i managed to find their! None other than a mint Aenima vinyal! so i bought it for 50$ but when i got home i noticed that one vinyal was orange and the other was silver!? is this normal? or did i just get ripped off>? all the artwork and everything like that is fine and in perfect condition but yea.... either this is really rare or i got hood winked. i would try it out but sadly i'm not in my local hood at the moment and don't have something to play it on... lol. Any thoughts or opinions? has anyone seen this before? just wondering ! thanks . still happy about salival and lateralus though. both great finds.

I wonder if you could take those back to the store. It doesn't seem like the sort of item a legitimate store should be selling.
