This is where I got mine. I got lucky. We were like number 36 (maybe 10th in line?) or something and I didn't think were would get in. Couldn't believe all the people who kept getting in line after the raffle thing. Never thought about bringing the laptop. Good idea.
Congrats on the purchase, I didn't think anyone but the first in line got tickets. Line didn't move a bit, people in the back of the line were pretty pissed. It sucks that ticketmaster doesn't handle the lines better, alot of people showed up early Saturday morning and got hosed. Managers were being dicks too.
SO... anyone who knows this place: Are there seats on the floor? Or is it open? Looks (from diagram on TM.com) like there could be a pit in the middle w/ seats around on the "floor" and in the balcony. Don't see how they could stop everyone w/ 'floor' tix from just going in the pit...
Also, when is everyone showing up? Is there anywhere to eat/drink nearby (mostly drink) beforehand? Or is it as much an urban wasteland as I'm led to believe?
If there aren't seats on the floor, not much sense for those of us with 'floor' tix to show up 5 hours early- unless you HAVE to be one of the people getting crushed against the barrier.

Is that an open invitation? Cuz me and some friends are planning on going to the venue ticketless to see if we can't find some good samaritans who'll sell to us. So if we're left out in the cold, a party after the show would make the trip worthwhile, rather than a failed quest.
I have posted this all over TA, but if you are going to this show, we are trying to get a group together at tanners on 11th and broadway. Its only about 4 miles from the venue, and its safe and big. There will be people there starting around 4:00. Come have a drink before the show, and maybe after. I have also been telling people that waiting in line for 5 hours is a waste of time, memorial is real small, and there really isn't a bad seat in the place, might as well drink or smoke with friends, instead of standing in line. Cheers

Question for native kansas citians. How bad is the area that the hilton on Minnesota is located? I mapquested the Memorial hall and the Hilton and like the above poster stated less than a half mile away. Would this be the place you guys would recomend? if not where? Any help would be appreciated. This will be my first Tool show ever and I want it to be a great experience all around> Thanks
It's not too shabby. If someone happens upon you in the parking lot, just keep walking. The surrounding neighborhoods are section 8 low income housing and do have quite a few strange people, some dangerous, some aren't hating on anybody they don't know. Especially "crazy white folk", as we tend to be called. They're more likely to mess with a man in a suit than a person in a Tool or other rock shirt.
In short, go for the Hilton, you should be just fine.
P.S. Don't quote me on this, but they MAY have a parking garage at that hotel. And if you can handle East St. Louis... K.C.K. will be a walk in the park.
I was just wondering for the people who have been to the venue... How likely is it that they will actually search you or anything like that because it says no cameras...
thanks crmsnghst. I think we will stay there. Just catch a cab to and from the show then well probably go out afterwards. My gf is only 20 are there any good places we can go where i can have some drinks and she can have a good time as well?
Also Crmsnghst you form the area? I wouldnt mind hooking up with some people to go out after the concert seeing as I dont know any hot spots in Kansas City.
Does anyone have any tickets available for this show? 2 out of the 4 of us planning on going are still ticketless. Please PM me if anyone is willing to part with some tickets.
i might go out there and try to get some scalped tickets, or should i get ebay tickets??
The scalpers will be hard to find at this show. Kansas City (Kansas as well as Missouri) has a city ordinance against scalpers. Ticket scalpers are typically asked to leave at first by the Kansas City Kansas Police Department, if they find them again they are usually arrested or slapped with a heavy fee.
In addition, with the KCK PD being just a mere block or so away from Memorial Hall, the scalpers tend to stay away. I would suggest going with EBay.

There aren't many places in KCK that I would bother to attend. The closest hot spots are usually in Westport, but that won't help you with the girlie being under 21. Best bet would perhaps be in Johnson County, I suggest Jerry's Bait shop ( http://jerrysbaitshop.net ) Jayson Kayne will be performing that night. He is a solo acoustic act and usually busts out with some really good covers and adds his own style to it.
My girl and I are going to Atmosphere right after the Tool gig lets out. It is at the Beaumont Club in Westport. It is an all ages show, you can get tix at the door or via Ticketmaster for $17 .
(For the record, I'm not a huge Atmosphere fan. Mr. Dibbs added a nice element to this band but he is no longer touring with them. I'm more tolerable to their older stuff that includes Mr. Dibbs. But my girl loves their music along with all her friends. If you and your gal are some what tolerable to Hip-Hop, this would be what I would highly recommend. You'd get your drink on, she'd enjoy a good show. Plus it'd be nice to know that I'm not the only Tool "Tool" in the venue. I'd be more than glad to share a pitcher or two with ya.)

Tanners on 11th and broadway is a bar and resturant, so if you are under 21, you can still get in. I will sneek shots to those that want them under the table.

If anyone is looking to sell a ticket i'll give 175 dollars for a balcony seat. Thats what the brokers are asking I just don't want to pay their stupid service fees on top of it.
i'm in town for work and would LOVE to catch them out here with some of you folks, i already know some ppl who are meeting up, now all i need is a ticket. i don't want to pay a fools price but, don't mind coughing up a little extra for all the hassle and to pick up a shirt or some beers.
