Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
These presale passwords really threw a curveball into many of our plans for attending future Tool shows this year...Does anyone know whether if I sign up for Tool Army now, I'll be able to get the password for future NY area shows?...I don't want to pay $30 for just a keychain, but I want to have an opportunity to get good seats...Info is appreciated!

I also would like to know. If I join TA do I gain access right away to the site/forum and get the passcode, or do I have to wait 4-6 weeks to get the "kit"
edit* I emailed Blair from the contact him link on toolband.com to find out. Who knows if he knows or if he will reply...

"Launch Radio Networks reports: TOOL intends to record some dates on its next North American tour for a live CD and DVD, according to Harddrive Radio. The initial dates for the outing have been announced, with the first confirmed show on March 15th in Las Vegas. Although TOOL tapes all its live shows, drummer Danny Carey told Launch that the band doesn't want to release each one as groups like PEARL JAM have done. "I doubt if we'll go that far with it, but we'll definitely be releasing some live DVDs and specific concerts that we feel strongly about," he said. "I think that's just a cooler way to do it. Pick the best stuff instead of just flood the market with a bunch of mediocre crap (laughs). No one can be their best every night. It's great that people may want all that, you know, if they're real hardcore fans, but I don't know, I think quality rather than quantity is a lot more important way to go."

You can track down my blubbering tribute to that show somewhere here in the forums...
So tool is coming to Tucson (prasie be to the saints!) and I abso-fucking-lutely must get seats, preferably good ones. Who's got the dish on the best way to work this whole "ticketmaster" schtick? Help a brutha out, eh?
Nice to know I'm not the only 40+ yr old guy around here giving blubbering reviews to their shows and scrambling like a kid for tickets. I mean, I blow off everyone and everything when Tool shows are about. Pathetic? Maybe. I guess even though my date of birth says I'm 40, my heart says I'm 20! And my body about 30. :P
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
Judging by the quality of tickets people were able to purchase today when tickets were released to the general public, I don't think we'll need to join Tool Army in order to get decent seats

I hadn't heard about this interview. I'm a fourth party source of this info anyway. But the alleged head of this info string works for whatever company puts together bonnaroo now a days.
Regardless, the south needs some more Tool lovin'! I wish they would come to Knoxville again 'cause I missed to last time they came ( too young :-( )

While I have never physically seen the article, this is supposedly what he said:
RS: Who do you think should headline Bonnaroo in 2007?
Trey Anastasio: Tool! I saw them here in New York at a small theater, and I loved them. They were so loud. They're the most psychedelic band going. The funny thing is, with their odd time signatures and patterns, they sound kinda like Phish.

Yea dude, I sure hope so. I live in Sacramento, and am kinda worried that they are doing Vegas, Reno and SD without hitting up any of Northern Cali, and then leaving CA altogether (on to Texas and whatnot). I hope they come back to CA later in the tour, and release some dates for Sac/SF/Oakland area soon so we know - If not, I might have to make the trip to Reno or something....
Saw them twice last time they were around - Oakland and LA. Need more!
On a side note: I can't wait until they release the live DVD. Fuck. Hopefully they throw on a show form the Lateralus tour as well :p

The way that Toolarmy is doing presales is that only random members who live within a 100 mile radius of the venue is getting the presale passwords. There are many angry folk in Toolarmy b/c of this. Presales are not being done like in the past. I'm not sure that this method of presale will be the same for future dates, but joining Toolarmy does not guarantee anyone a presale password. If you join as a member of TA, you do get to view the messages boards immediately, but you need to gain rank in points to post or reply to the boards. The wait for a membership kit is around six months presently. I hope the info helps you.
I doubt that Blair will respond back to your e-mail. He never does on TA.

Has anyone heard of any other rumored dates on the tour? radio announcements? Somebody's uncle who's gf works at a truckstop and overheard an eagle speaking french about tour dates?

Oklahoma City on March 29th. That's a rumor I heard today. Not sure of any other dates.........hopefully they'll hit K.C./Omaha/Des Moines/Sioux Falls - at least one of those! I'd love to see them again.
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
I also heard Oklahoma City on March 29th and then Memphis on March 30th. Tickets go on sale Saturday, Feb. 10th. At least thats the rumor I heard via a local radio station.....
Edited:
Correction... Now hearing the Memphis concert is actually in Southaven, MS at the DeSoto County Civic Center. Southaven is a few miles south of Memphis right on the Tenn/Miss state line.

I don't think this date is legit. It doesn't make sense to jump from TX all the way to PA. Also, there is a date scheduled in OKC already for that night. Here is the link:
If it is legit that will be one hell of a show :>P
