Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
FROM ISTANBUL... TO LOS ANGELES
In case this doesn't make Tool stage manager Eric's "Notes from the Crew", antique brass bottles with Jinn inside have been stashed in a road case. Now there's one last chance to hit the cobblestones... Perhaps the pungent bazaar for a little Byzantium dizziness, or the variegated glow of a spice market. Pastry filled with honey and pistachios washed down with "lion's milk." Ah, the heady fumes of anise-flavored brandy (raki) and aroma of grilled shish kabobs before coming home to that In-N-Out "Double-Double" and lime-stuffed Coronas. According to giggly Jackie Johnson, the weather should be nice.
Ok so this is the latest post on the official website. I cannot help but think that there are hints in this relating to future tour plans. Call me crazy but "now theres one last chance to hit the cobblestones" could very easily be referring to a final concert or two that tool are performing in the states before heading to australiasia or maybe im just way too eager to find out about what their tour plans are and im reading too much into things lol
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
You can buy tickets for both shows http://www.ticketsnow.com/Search/Sea...Y=SS&WHAT=tool
TicketsNow is a major ticket reseller so the tickets are legit. They are also of course way more expensive then regular ticket prices.
I would imagine that they will be back in the states for one more leg (probably West Coast) and I'd have to think they'll play "Wings" again. I know the Pacific Northwest really only got the first few months of the 2006 tour wothout "Wings" so I'm sure that they'll make up for it.
Yep, and I would be really sad if they didnt tour the west coast again. I have a really good feeling they will play shows in cities they missed the first time around in the NW, but either way I got to see them at the Gorge last summer so Im grateful enough for that, what an amazing venue.
Seems like they might be doing something similar like they did for the Lateralus tour. Im in Boise and I didnt get to seem them on the Lateralus tour until October of 2002, and if you look at the schedule for 2002 fall, there arent very many really big cities, heres a link http://toolshed.down.net/tour/fall02/
So maybe the smaller and some bigger cities will get to see them this fall. Who knows. I doubt they repeat what they did then. Or maybe they will? I can only hope they do something similar. Seeing the LA shows posted on some of those ticket sites is a promissing clue that they have shit scheduled and they are just keeping it under wraps tightly until they want to release the word. God they love toying with our souls.
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
Im flying out to LA for my first two tool shows come hell or highwater if those ghost dates are for real. I cant believe I missed all these shows in the past 2 years. OMG I feel so dumb.

Very nice. It's good to see things are still up for a US tour. I just wonder if they'll go to Japan and Australia as well.

Haha, now these tickets have been pulled too. I guess no one can make up their mind about all of this.

The Sheraton and the Mayfair are both nice hotels within walking distance of Staples/Nokia Theater. Look here
You can score a ticket from here in the tickets section, but they can be random. Usually if you are patient someone can't go at the last minute and you can snap one up.

The announcement should be any day now, im sure the details are just being finalised and im guessing it would more likely be early december.
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
^ who knows what they will do first? the final US leg or Australia. Remember Danny's injury happened after their last Australian tour so that might push back when they go back down under.
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
blair will probably make a tour announcement on wednesday or thursday of next week....thats if tickets go on sale on the 22nd, like that website says....

How would that have any effect on them coming back down under

I think he meant that they will be back in Australia later than they expected (if they're planning on coming back) because of Danny's injury. The injury itself didn't dictate if they're coming back, it just pushed it back a few months.
At the Big Day out shows Maynard said "see you in November or December" which happened to be before Danny's injury so they would probably end up coming back there later than this. Personally, I would have thought that they'd want to go to Japan and Australia BEFORE LA because they just toured Europe and it is somewhat on the way home. Judging by the (unconfirmed) LA dates of 10/31 and 11/1, however, they'll probably tour the US west coast first then shoot back to Australia and Japan.

ahh ok i gotcha buddy, i was a little confused there.
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
Who knows what the heck they're gonna do at this point? I got a buncha friends standing by to go after tickets for the dates in LA. At this point, it's really starting to look like they are not going to happen, in spite of the last rumor that on-sale date for the shows is Sept. 22. We shall see.
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
For some reason it won't let me post new threads in the tour section so hopefully someone who can help will see this...I want a bootleg of the 6/7 show in Richmond, VA. I went to the show and it was damn good, especially for Richmond. Dimeadozen and zomb don't have one....if you have one or can steer me toward one, well that'd be alright.

That is exactly what I meant. Thanks for clearing that up for me Maz.

Probably. Somewhere. Or just read the interview with Adam in Guitar World. He pretty much said it ain't gonna happen anytime soon, but he would like to do it at some point. Apparently, he didn't want to just video a concert and call it a TOOL DVD. He did hint that there is an outside chance that the Vicarious and The Pot videos are almost done...
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
they use a lot of chet zar stuff....his dvd "disturb the normal" has a bunch of the animations used at tool shows....its pretty sweet... www.chetzar.com

Highly unlikely. They arent going to cut us short. They are just taking a much deserved break chillin with friends and family and then Im sure in the next few weeks we will get a tour update. Im sure it will be a smaller, more relaxing tour compared to their current run with all the summer festivals and everything. Dont count on them selling us short. They didnt with the Lateralus tour and I doubt they will this time.
