Gorgeous!

Very beautiful. I love how it illuminated the plains.

Snapped this one yesterday before work:

That doesn't even look real. It's too perfect!

Your squirrel is great, too Sasha. A still squirrel is a rarity.

Re: Photo of the Day

Thanks guys, glad you liked that photo. It was plenty fun taking it. My other two favourite shots from the trip. Plus some beer.

Lone Tree - Taken on the long drive down from Noosa in Queensland to Melbourne. 24 hours is way too long to be in a car.

Brisbane City - This is the shot from the balcony of the place I stayed over new years. Good times.

Beer - Staying cool in an esky, preparing for consumption.

Word. I like the 4th one too.

Edit: Actually, I think I like the 3rd best because it could pass for a sunset too.

That one wouldn't load up for me...

aabb, I like the sunset shot out your window. I'm a big fan of sunset shots in general, and this one's got some nice colours.

Here's an edited version of a photo I took just before new years last year. It was originally very dark, as you can see in the link on the flickr page. It's all moonlight.

Thanks, glad you like them, it's appreciated... I don't make a living out of it officially, but I sometimes use photos I've taken in the work I do, which is web / graphic design. Most of the time though, it's just something I enjoy doing.

La Selva Beach, my family rents a beach house every summer, this is sunset from our balcony:
http://stashbox.org/11099/laselva.jpg.

This pic was taken with an old digital Kodak camera.

My little dog looking out the front door, I don't know why I love this picture so much, she likes to lay in the sun and see what's going on outside!

Re: Photo of the Day

Uh, is that a Christmas ornament? Just kidding, it's always so rewarding yet somewhat heartbreaking when you find a pic opportunity that can only be taken a few certain ways, the bad thing is you almost always end up in the shot. If you'd shop yourself out of it it'd be way cooler, but I think you know that. Otherwise, I think it's cool.

I like it, you could do some cool shit with that, and it looks like you already have. Is it some kind of extreme fish eye, or did you seriously just shoot a christmas decoration? (it looks like you might have)..

Control your exposure! The white in the eyes are totally blown out. Get that under control and you're golden.

Oddly enough, I took this on my phone a few days before I saw aabb's escher shot. I was reminded of that photo when I looked through them. It's shot against a harley's fuel gauge.

A photographic statement regarding my intelligence

...I had been working on this for a while now. The idea came to me about a year ago, and I had tried it once, but it really hadn't come out how I wanted it to. I forgot all about it until recently when I was sitting around one night. Decided to give it another go around, see if I could figure it out. This worked...not to the effect I desired, but it's alright. I hope to one day better this. Technically, it's shitty. Blurry mess. I got really agitated that night. I'll have to gather my patience and try it again in the future.

Re: Photo of the Day

That's a great idea.

You might be surprised how that image comes up with a bit of a tweak in photoshop. At the moment, the levels of the photo aren't balanced, which basically means that the contrast between light and dark tones isn't equal. There aren't many areas which are pure black. I can show you the difference if you don't have photoshop. Or not.

Either way, I like it.

Definitely. Thanks...I'm sure I'll just end up going back and revamping the shot in a year. Maybe then I'll have the patience. Hopefully...

Very nice. Somehow reminds me of The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari.

Also, I like the original better than the photoshopped pic. No offense to Elgyn.
