Today me and some people got together and jammed for the first time. None of us have ever jammed together prior to this. All of this is improvised and completely live and unedited. Sure there are slip ups and stuff, but considering we didn't even choose a key for any of the jams I think this was a killer jam session. I seperated the jams and put them on soundclick, let me know what you guys think.
My favorite is for sure jam4, but they all end up pretty groovy.

Also let me know what guys think of the recording. The mix is unedited, no eq or anything. I just tracked the session and seperated the jams. There are some spotty parts, but I think it sounds pretty good for a live session.

Nice. Nice.
This stuff sounds a LOT like my band, minus the turntables. We should tour together or something.

Thanks for the responses. Tyro, I play bass.
Also, any comments on the recording quality? I know there are some issues with the bass, snare, and bass drum recording, but I recorded all this with 4 mics and no signal splitters to send the bass direct. Outside these issues, any others I'm not making note of?

Whoa, I'm impressed. Great stuff, all of the instruments sound great and the recording quality is really good. Keep it up.

On jam4... The snare doesn't sound right to me, and neither does the guitarist's strumming at times. The latter might've been fixed by adding higher notes to some of the chords, since the tone he uses seems to be much more effective in the upper register. There are some slight timing issues as well (mainly with the guitar), but overall a fantastic jam.
Listening to the others now.

Thanks man. Yeah, everyone fucks up a little time-wise somewhere. If theres some dodgy note choice it's probably just because the whole thing was improvised, so it took a while to find the key sometimes (atleast for me it did). I think the snare was clipping going in the compressor sometimes since I pretty much just set things up and went, no real sound check.

I have no clue. I'm guessing the turntablist was just using some battle record.

I really like 'em. Nice and cruisey. Made me feel like kickin back and having a few G&T's.
My tip: lose the turntable.

Nope. I don't really even think we will ever jam again anytime soon. I could post some Jazz jams me, the drummer, and a sax player sometimes have though.
