Mods, is there any idea in this? You know, make it more like the poem competition if there are lots of people who want to participate.

We could make the rules more specific than they are between me and Cyanide. I wouldn´t want to reduce artistic freedom but maybe it would be good to have some rules.

Why doesnt it work like this... Everyone makes a post in here when they have their music. Then a new topic is arranged to that you have a poll. The post contents will have the links to the song, and who played them. Then, you can see who is better thanks to the voting.

Yeah, good idea. I have thought something like that. But I think it would be cooler to make head to head battles of two guitarist, tournament-style. But there are only me, Cyanide ChrYst (who is in probation), Professor Pudding and smirk (if I remember right, they dont have recording equipment just now) and learn2swim. Not enough to make a good tournament.

So, another idea. Set it up like tourney poll style.

Poll 1: Doughboy vs. Chryst
Poll 2: X vs X

Poll 3: Winner of 1 vs Winner of 2

Something to that nature.

Im just giving you a general idea. Whoever wants to do this can do this, I certainly don't mind. I cant play the guitar, I can do a few licks of simple stuff like some Disturbed, but hell, thats about it. I did figure out Got The Life by Korn from ear. (Hey, I may suck, but it made me happy)

It is impossible for some of us to get miultitrack recordings, so what if we stuck to one track, one guitar- principle?

i have a recording interface, but no condensor mic, so it will be shit quality. also is this original music only? i can play a lot of difficult covers, but i dunno if thats legal? :D

Actually I dont care is it original or cover. Just play some good stuff. And I dont think that anyone will be complaining about legalities, unless your cover sucks alot. Just record something with something.

Hey, this is my first post here, so hey everyone. Anyway, im up for this, ive been playing guitar for about 2 years now, and been mucking round with drums for a few months. I have a permanent recording setup, so thats not a problem at all, just give me a deadline and ill try make it. Btw, in terms of rules, i dont think there should be any in terms of the creativity, amount of instruments(unless the majority of people cant lay down a drum track and whatnot, thatd just make it unfair for them), i think in terms of creativity everyone should be free to be as creative as they like. The rules should be things like time limits, whether people want covers/originals, remix type things, or just anything at all. As for the poll idea for the voting, that seems like the best way to do it. Im lookin foreward to this, its gonna be sik.

Yes make up a list of competators first, then make it into a tourney style. Then make a seperate thread for each competition. The competators will post their recording (maybe one minute max?) and then everyone else will vote. That sounds decent?

When both people agree they are ready to post their track, create the new thread. So they dont hear your track and try to make something better, does that make sense? I think when both are ready, they should be uploaded at relatively the same time.
