not bad. Drums lose some timing just after "relax, slip away". Between then and when the guitar comes in. I've got the setup to do bass and vox. I'll do both, but make 3 diff mixes.

Awesome. IC is going to have some higher quality tracks soon, and then I'll actually mic my amp and use all my pedals (wah, delay, flange, etc) to get a better sound.

I think that's just the sound of the LP man...be sure to play that part ('solo') on the A and D strings, then the D and G. Don't play it on the higher up strings like some tabs say to, it sounds like butt.

oh well idon't know much of stinkfist except the cool interlude with the 12 and 14 d chords.

The sound of the snare is just AWFUL. Besides that this is a good recording. The guitar is pretty good. The drums sound bad. But getting drums too sound good is a bitch, I know...but just pointing out the obvious.

Yeah man - well established. IC is gonna work on some higher quality stuff. The timing is off quite a bit, also. It's very rough. I didn't even listen to the whole drum track first, I just dropped it in Audition, plugged in my guitar and hit record.

yeah I thought it was played a little fast...but wasn't sure. My band has a knack for playing Stinkfist a lil slower, so my opinion is a bit biased.

wow..I just listened to that...I am so embarrassed. I cant believe my drum track.. its horrendous. I appologize..I dont know what I was on when I recorded that. I was doing alot that day that maybe I cropped the wrong take...I'll try to get a new one on as soon as possible. peace

I have one mic, but thats soon to change. We're trying to make a studio at the house, a low budget one at that, but maybe I can get some semi-decent recordings out there. I got my soundcard working again, so hopefully this'll be soon

IC man your tracks sound good enough, they could use the immersive stereo sound that drums have but at any rate don't beat yourself up about sound quality, very few of us here have access to good sound recording equipment.

its not the quality that sucks as much as my playing does in this..I'll have a new one up hopefully this afternoon

yeah, so i did like the first half of the song that i know without needing to look at tabs... I get a little excited the first few times i do the bass solo, and it's a little fast, but i get back in time. I'd like a nicer drum track, because i couldn't get the bass solo to sound right with ICs drums, but i could make it sound good with tool's version.

There are also a few errors here and there that i'll clean up. I've never played this song all the way through, so i'll need to look at the tabs to figure out the rest of the interlude, or whatever you wanna call it.

If you follow the same link it's an updated version, where the timing is correct for the bass solo, i mess up one note, and i added a distored layer. So it's a little more down and dirty. You'll notice that the whole song is pretty dirty, compared to my schism, but that's because stinkfist needs dirty bass... yeah.

Boss Bass Overdrive EQ
-High EQ (40%)
-Low EQ (55-60%)
-Balance and Drive (same as High EQ)

That's the eq I used for this recording. It's a little different when I do my own stuff, and it runs through my amp that has a tube pre-amp so it sounds a little different.

How you get that sort of metalic sound, i can manage to find it. My strings are fairly used and old, would that be it?

What are the settings when you run it through your amp? Just out of interest.

i shouldn't comment since i'm not a bassist but a metallic sound definitely comes from brand new strings, especially if you don't break them in (stretch them out before playing)... in general
