Re: <seven>

This never ceases to amaze me.

If you reorder Lateralus, without repeating any tracks, you have 6,227,020,800 possible track orders. If you lump tracks together (Parabol/a, DRT, EBA/Patient), you get 5,040 possibilities.

What makes your new discovery special?

True.. and this system right here is lazy and dumb for Tool to do.

It also requires Tool to have chosen the "original" track listing (as released) from 6,227,020,799 other possibilities.

That makes the odds of this being the "correct" order 1 in 31,384,184,800, giving it roughly a 0.000000000000000318631822% chance of being "the one."

Who knows? Maybe this guy got lucky.

Re: <seven>

Let me guess you think that the misspelling of LATERALUS on the first "what was it?" 4000 cd jackets is in itself a hidden track..

oh but wait a minute! you have 2372 post here on TDN and an Asst. Administrator?

Do tell wise one... Do tell of this "hidden from the masses" song that you are your co-horts have the prevy to take in.

If you are talking about the fact that Lateralus has three songs or more that follow the same count pattern and or "like in ticks and leeches" where a chorus of another earlier track seems to repete, Then that is not what I would call a hidden flippin track!

but please! do tell do tell!

Oh and BTW... before you give me shit for my bad gramer and misspellings. Ide just like to offer you a big turd platter and a "kiss my fuckin ass I dont realy give a fuck!, ass face!" sandwich.

Something tells me you're not going to be a negotiator when you grow up.

1. I'm pretty sure it was closer to 100,000 or 1,000,000 misprints, not 4,000. There are still some of them on store shelves. I see them all the time.

2. I was being sarcastic.

3. Fuck you and your attitude.

Okay now back to the paterns in lateralus.

what is the Ferbioanci or what ever sequence anyway? And was it just Blair who posted on toolband about it or did the band mention anything of a special patern on Lateralus?

Re: <seven>

The Fibonacci Sequence is basically a string of numbers that when you add a number to the number before it, you get the next number. Starting with the numbers 0 and 1. 0+1=1, so the set now looks like this; 0 1 1. You take the 1 and add the previous number (1) and you get 2. The sequence looks like this; 0 1 1 2. Now you take the 2 and add the previous number and get 3. Now you have 0 1 1 2 3. When you add the 3 and the 2 you get 5. 0 1 2 3 5. 5+3=8. 0 1 1 2 3 5 8. The process continues.

I've been wondering how this pattern is useful in math equasions or if/where it appears in nature. Does anyone know?
