I work at a music store and have read that there will be a limited edition release of Tool's Ænima this month...It features an upgrade in terms of packaging (hologram cover etc). I am told that this edition will be extremely limited in number upon release (around 2000 copies will be made)...But I don't know if this is a marketing ploy...
Does anybody know if this version of the album was available in other countries before this month? I can't seem to find any information on it whatsoever. Any help is appreciated. Thanks :)

I sent an e-mail to someone selling it on Ebay and got this response "sony BMG have just released it here as a special edition for the tour.. It's the full deal.", that's still not a great answer though.
Well we just got a box of them and I can say that there is no difference in regards to tracks etc...The only difference is the hologram cover with perforated cards. I think the re-release is related to the tour and an Australian competition, which indicates that you must purchase the CD in order to be eligible to enter.

they're mixing up their words. when they say HOLOGRAM they mean the american lenticular case, as australia and uk and other countries had a regular style case with different/more basic? inserts.

i've got two copies of Aenima , one is just the smokey or whatever picture and the other is lenticular, holographic um picture. yeah. i've bought this album so many times it's funny, always lose or break cd's.
