Can’t help but mishear a lyric

No matter how many times I listen to this song, I always mishear a lyric. Maynard says:

“Ignorant to the damage done”

But I always hear:

“Ignorant to the derelict end”

It also kind of changes the meaning of the song for me a bit, since the official lyric seems to describe how much the holder is unaware he’s hurting himself, while for me it’s how the holder intentionally ignores everything that tells him to let go of the titular Grudge.

Discuss?

Hearing it your way seems to render it incoherent. It’s a stretch, for sure.

I think maynard does try and make it so a word he says could be one of 2-3 on occasion. its part of the layering to their lyrics

Re: Can’t help but mishear a lyric

The song passive on APCs Emotive comes to mind. Passive aggressive bullshit, that's some opressive bullshit , that's some impressive bullshit, that southern present bullshit, that summer present bullshit, that's some depressive bullshit, and any of the bullshits could be pull shit or pole shit or pool shit or even fool shit, or full shit or push it. There's alot of shit being said and I'm sure I'm not covering all of the many combos. Just an example of what your talkin about
