translation: ToolArchive got shut down.
Apparently the guy running it has filed an appeal and seems convinced that he'll get the channel back. I'm not so sure. YouTube corporate doesn't seem to care all that much these days when their algorithms decimate a channel, especially niche-y smaller ones. I wouldn't be surprised that even if given a second look they'd say the algorithm acted accordingly. Monetizing bootlegs like that is toeing a fine line. Had he played low and under the radar (not monetized the channel and sought out compensation through patreon et al), he'd have more of a leg to stand on.
It's too bad, he did good work. Even was getting pretty comprehensive with news updates regarding the new album.
I'll hope the channel/content comes back. But I won't hold my breath.

What's up party people? I must admit "next year" was a little disappointing, was thinking Oct/Nov would be realistic.

You thought wrong. Given APC in full swing for album release/touring, I figured it was always a little unlikely we'd see a Tool release this year, despite Danny's never ending optimism

If anyone was interested, the VIP merch package came through today. Long sleeve shirt- red tool logo(front) and the bound hands(back), event poster, an event coin, and a pin. Also, the packing slip said $0.00 shipping, but they definitely charged me $25 or so for shipping...

I doubt they actually paid $0 shipping though. Thought I agree in principal that charging for shipping on a $500 VIP package is a bit rich. Especially when the merch shipped so late.

I’m ok with paying the shipping, it’s just interesting the receipt says $0.00 - an irrelevant observation. Now I’m just trying to decide if I want to frame the signed ticket with the poster or not.

beats the heck out of me, but it doesn't seem likely.

Seems as though they're very much on the home stretch regarding the album. I'd be surprised if there wasn't one out by June next year.

It seems like moderators are only allowed to create threads on the Live board.
Where can we discuss thoughts on how a show for a date was? They don't seem to be creating threads for new shows.
I tried PMing various mods, but never got a response about this.

JWB had checked on me during the Thousand Oaks fires. I used to live in Newbury Park (a part of Thousand Oaks), but now live in North Hollywood.
And yes, I was on tour in Europe all of October and November, but just got home a few days ago.

Most likely starting with some more Brit Floyd, until the time comes to get Tool going.

Given that Maynard appears to have done his part, and the mixing and mastering approaches completion, I think it's reasonable to assume the album will be ready for release around the same time they start touring in May.

If I recall correctly Schism was released to radio about 2.5 months before the album dropped

So if my prediction of April 19th holds, we should know by late Feb.

Yeah, I guess so. It's worth noting that plenty has changed in the last 12 years in regards to record launches, so using 10k Days as a guide may not be entirely accurate.
That said, I don't think we'll see an In Rainbows style quick release - I expect the record label will want the usual promo cycle.
By the end of March, I doubt we'll still be sitting here scratching our heads wondering what's going on.

Yeah, I don't have a huge level of confidence in that March statement. The last 12+ years have taught me to be cautious about expectations.

Well at least DC agrees that April is likely. Not that he's the best source based upon past optimism..

Damn that clip of Danny at NAMM has me so hyped. April seems optimistic, late May seems more likely if it’s going to happen this year. That or fall, but fingers crossed for spring

I have my tickets to Epicenter. The Cult into Judas Priest into Tool. Not bad.
Cant wait to hear Jambi and 46&2 live! :)

I'd be surprised if the only US shows we see in May are the three festivals. I half expect if/when they do formally announce an album release date there will be a few more gigs added, though I'd probably expect a more comprehensive US tour after the EU shows.

I think we can all agree Danny is not the most reliable when it comes to release dates, but he was quoted as saying April or May at a gig just after the NAMM signing. Maynard's "No" statement really doesn't change much.

Do you think that a song will be released ahead of the album release?
