A Perfect Circle hasn't been active since 2004... we have gotten 10,000 Days and everything since from Tool in the meanwhile. Stop whining, kiddies.
I have never seen APC live before and I seriously hope there's room for a couple midwest dates in a westcoast tour... would be such a fucking thrill to see them in the twin cities.
i fly to the twin cities for an interview monday. is it a good place to live?
"Yeah Tool is fucking amazing. But there’s a big chunk of their fan base that think they’ve become thought provoking geniuses just from listening to them."
I read that and began to believe in time travel...
Is it april already???

Also, besides the Vanishing, The Rose is APC's best song. So it must always be performed at every show they do.
Seriously never understood any whining that goes on about Maynard's contributions to either APC or Puscifer. Fine if they're not your cup of tea. But how many other high profile singers have side projects that are, you know, relevant? I mean, I am sure there are others, but MJK's side projects are actually very interesting even if they don't subplant your desire for more Tool.

I always thought Sleeping Beauty was the most boring song on that album. Theres almost no dynamic, its just a very flat song from beginning to end and none of the instruments catch me.
Rose is amazing though.

Howerdel is missing? Holy shit, man. I know I was really wishing for Tool to get back into it and all, but that's crazy O.o And what's with Adam having this mental break? Love APC and all despite wanting Tool, of course I hope he's okay :/
Tool - June 20, 2010 - A Perfect Circle - July 22, 2011 - Tool - January 21, 2012 -
Nine Inch Nails - November 5, 2013 - Skinny Puppy - January 30, 2014 - Tool - March 24, 2014 - Tool - January 13, 2016

i personally call bullshit on that story. it sounds somewhat legit up until the part about blair saying they were in the desert taking shrooms and talking about the end of the world. thats the part that threw me off
Oh it totally smells of hogwash, as i was trying to get at earlier, he should have saved something like that for april 1st.

Yea forgot we had that discussion already. I'll say it like this- I think Sleeping Beauty is one of Maynard's finest vocal performances. But I feel the Rose overall has a bit more wallop to it. And the lyrics are as strong as anything he has written.

Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion
It's not as though a brief APC tour would actually slow Tool's (you know, the guys actually write the bulk of the music) overall writing and recording process now would it? No need to get disappointed or angry folks.

Today, upon being reached by a relative insider (attorney?) to the pending "case" against Adam Jones, Tool's webmaster, Blair Mackenzie Blake had this to say in regards to the mounting allegations against the band, "Well, now that it has been a few days and our respective perspectives have come "back down to Earth," so to speak, I believe we can finally put this whole thing to rest...
On Friday the 27th of August 2010, Danny, Justin, Adam and I held a magickal ceremony during which something quite ineffable occurred. Earlier that evening, upon settling into our encampment, it was brought to our attention by Adam that he had had some sort of mental breakdown during the course of the week and we discussed at length what he thought may have been the catalyst of it. Lo and behold, Adam finally dropped the bomb upon the rest of us that Maynard had told him that he had decided to leave the writing sessions for the new Tool album and instead take some time to "help out" Billy and do the APC thing for awhile (paraphrasing Maynard). In fact, a West Coast APC Tour had already been mapped out, with Maynard failing to tell anyone in the band, save their manager and label, whom obviously didn't have the balls to confront the rest of the band.
Immediately, I was both awestruck and furious, to be quite honest. I looked over to see Danny scanning the sky and Justin just sat there mute and not moving, as per usual. However, it was Justin who spoke first, "You know, I love Maynard guys, as I know you do too, but... this has simply gone too far. This next album is just too important to let him go and fuck this up." "I agree," Danny spoke in seemingly calculated accordance with Justin. "I mean, I can understand that, yes, he's the most vulnerable member of the band musically with his deteriorating vocal ability and he's really insecure about that, but I'll be damned if he stalls another album with this shit. Lateralus was one of our greatest albums and we definitely benefited from that whole experience, but this album, like you said Justin, is just too important. There... there isn't much time really and... well, that's one of the reasons that I asked you guys to come out here again with Blair and I. Something is about to... happen."
Adam finally let go, "Listen guys, I'm about at the end of my rope with all of this. I know I'm not that kind of person and you guys aren't either but..." "Something has to be done," I finally understood. After about an hour and a half or so, in accordance with the movement of Luna, we began to enter the state of magickal trance with help from our pound of psilocybe cubensis, now entirely consumed. Led by me and my sperm-covered edition of Aleister Crowley's White Stains, we contacted the Cabiri via shamanic singing. We found ourselves in the same headspace, waiting for "Them" to arrive, but it just never happened. "Maybe I just can't do it tonight," I offered. But it was then that Justin murmured, "Wait for it." Suddenly, The Man Himself (Crowley) emerged butt-naked from the great fire before us holding Billy Howerdel's lifeless body. In utter shock and slight terror, I flashed a most twisted grin. "Take this and eat," Crowley chortled and then walked directly over to Danny, whispered something in his ear for all of twenty seconds, turned around, waved to each of us, winked at me, and then jumped back into the fire. It was then, all at the same time, that we each received the psychic prompting. "Do it!"
Justin picked up Billy's head, proceeded to pop out both of his eyeballs (they have the most protein?) and ate in silence...
"What... what did Al say?" That was about all I could get out.
Danny, picking up one of Billy's arms just said, "We're fucked, pick up his other arm and start eating."

Damn I was hoping that would end with them kicking Maynard out of the band

Let me start by saying im a long time "lurker"...long time! I gotta say i havent seen the boys 30 times or more as claimed by a few on these forums but i caught em every time I was able to.
It started with migrating with the crowd after a RATM act to the second stage to see what all the fuss was about in 93 - Molson Park Barrie Ontario Canada - and i was hooked.
I gotta say the 2001 Lateralus tour at the ACC was ..umm..wow! I was blessed enough to see them many times before and after. Gotta admit though when the "fucking third eye" came across these forums as the opener for the last tour it broke my heart.
Yep, im Canadian and part of this "no east cost love" stuff but im certain we will get ours soon enough.
APC - ive seen em from Paz to Jordie and everything in between within a 100 mile radius of Toronto. Brings me to why I posted for the first time.
Vanishing and The Rose are both phenom tracks. Hey i was lucky enough to see Maynard throw off a furr coat down to his speedo during the climax of Rose - again Molson Park Barrie Ontario Canada - but I gotta ask...no love for "The Package"?

Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion
I think it'd be great if APC opened for Tool. Of course, there'd be people critisizing the fact that Maynard would be "stealing the evening" of whathaveyou. I don't imagine that that would ever happen though.
