I seem to agree 100% with pretty much every post you make.

On Friday the 27th of August 2010, Danny, Justin, Adam and I held a magickal ceremony during which something quite ineffable occurred. Earlier that evening, upon settling into our encampment, it was brought to our attention by Adam that he had had some sort of mental breakdown during the course of the week and we discussed at length what he thought may have been the catalyst of it. Lo and behold, Adam finally dropped the bomb upon the rest of us that Maynard had told him that he had decided to leave the writing sessions for the new Tool album and instead take some time to "help out" Billy and do the APC thing for awhile (paraphrasing Maynard). In fact, a West Coast APC Tour had already been mapped out, with Maynard failing to tell anyone in the band, save their manager and label, whom obviously didn't have the balls to confront the rest of the band.

...
ok, wtf?

Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion

oops i got you and 200L mixed up. allow me to reread this..

edit: okay... i think i know which way is up now.

But yeah... I don't think anyone other than spiral really bought it. For however short a time...

Blair posting that on Toolarmy is one thing. (obviously a joke)
200L posting it here claiming its breaking news from fourtheye (nothing of the sort) and then saying to you it was confirmed by junior (he's still AFK) is another. (confusing, but still a clear fabrication)

The joke doesn't really translate unless you include the punchline... which made this whole thing kind of the "wtf" variety...

Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion

Hopefully getting away from the pure wasting of time that is the Hannibal Lector-esque silliness....

All here appreciate and admire (assumed) the lyrical genius of MJK, as proven with all projects that he has allowed us to absorb. And one would think that part of the reason for the long periods of time between tool recordings is the acquisition of experiences by which the band, and specifically MJK, can draw from to create what is presented...again brilliance. This may be rhetorical, but is there a concern that the APC reunion, along with the recent Puscifer music will take away from the advancement of the tool writing process? I love APC, so I am not disappointed in the reformation, but I am concerned with the timing.

This is better said than blatantly (and eerily) firing death-threats to someone.

Too long?

You must be of the video game generation.

Move along now.

Blair didn't even write it.

I did.

I thought it was pretty funny.

I mean, I was really stoned when I wrote it.

I knew at least a few tools would think it was plausible.

Heh.

Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion

it was funny, when you posted the second part.

if you did write it... props i guess. It's well written.

edit: that punchline remark was more about just your first post. It all made sense by your second post.

Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion

if anything ever happens to blair we know who to call...

i dont think maynard would be doing all this other extracurricular stuff if he knew it would interfere with the tool writing/recording process. hes said it before in interviews that theyre getting older and doesnt want to wait as long as they have in the past to release records (although its coming up on the 5 year mark so theres really no change)

Queens is not exactly a beehive of activity. (unless you count re-releasing Rated R)

I do like Sweethead though..

Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion

so is this APC thing gonna be a "tour", like the 2010 tool tour which spanned pretty much close to the midwest/texas/ect.

or more of a few one-off shows in LA/Vegas like early Puscifer?

What kanaduh said.

People do that shit all the time. They lazily skim and jump to all sorts of conclusions based on erroneous shit. That's their problem. Please educate yourself, otherwise you'll miss out on subtext.

I was certainly entertained by it.

Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion

Yeah, the Australia/Hawaii bit as well as the "nanoguitar" info were interesting. I just wish he'd cut the bullshit and tell us about (Tool) what we're reading the thing for.

Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion

It was a disappointment of sorts. To be honest I didn't really read the the parts about their places of living, had no interest.

The fact that they are still talking about touring down-under sometime soon is.... interesting. If this APC tour comes to fruition, then the most HOPEFUL timeline is something like this... (if the writing is going more swimmingly at this point)

writing is finished by end of October, recording Nov/Dec, APC tours sometime around Xmas/New Years while new album is mastered... BDO and Hawaii dates as a warmup tour... then new album drop and extensive tour almost 5 years on the head, Apr/May 2011.

Yeah, I predicted on another forum the new album will be in our hands by May 2011.

I honestly cannot wait.

I'm pretty fucking excited to see what Justin, Danny, and Adam have come up with this time.

Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion

I listen to the Rose to wake up in the morning...it's a great song. Hah, try listening to it with only one headphone though...the bent/off notes are painful to hear :) They really come together when you hear the full thing.

I don't think May is that optimistic. Actually I'd say September is very pessimistic.
