Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
Hi everyone-
Long time lurker; first time poster. Been following the 2009 Tour discussion intently. Planning to go to Toronto, Cincinnati, and the August 4 show, *if* it happens to be upstate NY!
Anyway - I scored 4 100-level singles for the Cincy show this morning, and only need 2 of them. Does anyone out there need a good single, or a pair of singles? Selling for FACE VALUE, of course.
The seats are in:
Section 101, Row R (VERY high seat number - looks to be an aisle seat in the center section)
Section 100, Row P (VERY low seat number, right near the center aisle)

I'm curious about how you say that row R is a VERY high seat #, and P is a VERY low seat # when the sections 101 & 100 are vertically aligned along with section 102... P is closer to stage than R... I am assuming, but only by 3 full rows. Sorry if this is confusing, but I am slightly confused.

I think he's referring to the seat locations within those particular rows without giving out the exact number. I do the same thing when I need to sell extras.

I understand more fully now. If ti175 has horizontal Row R, a high seat # for example would mean a big number (20+) ... and that Row P would be a low seat number ... #1 and all it's single digit friends.
. . .
BTW, in my previous post, I had meant to state that Sections 101-103 are aligned Horizontally, not vertically.
It's been a lack-of-sleep, bewilderment of a day. :)

"Yeah Tool is fucking amazing. But there’s a big chunk of their fan base that think they’ve become thought provoking geniuses just from listening to them."
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
I tried for 3 together at 10:00 on the dot and when I pulled up 3 in 101, I tried to pay for them, and the page would not load but the timer counted down to zero. So after a long wait in "line" I could only get two in 101 and another single in 100. Still, it looks like we are really lucky to have tickets at all. Can't wait for the show!!

I've always (well almost) gone to TicketMaster in person myself and got pretty good seats. The couple of times that I didn't- I've ended with crappy seats. At the Paramount theature in Oakland I ended w/ the very last row at the very top- those were bought on-line. And by contrast, when I went in person to TM for the last New Orleans show (only 10 days in advance to the show date) I landed row 3 in the balcony directly in front of the stage (my opinion THE best location to watch the band and light show).
Now how about that elusive LA show..... I'm beginning to loose a bit of faith here. ;^(
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
Anybody ever use that scalper site mycityrocks.com. I impulsivly bought great seats from them today but now I hope it isn't fraunduant can anyone verify it's good (besides the rip off price)

I need a Boston show -- NEED it! My fingers are double crossed for a Boston show. Do you guys think they're going to cap off the tour at Lollapolooza? Or do you guys think there will some more shows after that?

Once again... Manchester = Boston.
It's as good as you're going to get. Be glad it's only 1 hour away.. most people on this forum have to travel hundreds of miles for the closest show.
So, no to Boston.
As for the ending of the tour, it's a pretty safe assumption to say that Lolla will be the last show, with the possible exception of that mysterious SoCal show.
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
Thank god TOOL isnt playing us bank arena...worst sounding show I saw on the 10k days tour. So for the Cinci Show...wheres a good place to drink some good beers before the show? I have never caught a show at PNC.
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
I was looking on the ticketmaster website for cincy ticks and its funny how they are sold out but you can get front row 100 section for a starting bid of $210 on their ticket auctions site. Thats messed up.

I agree, my friend and I were looking at those "auctions" before tickets even went on sale...they had all of the "good seats" there including pit tickets. So we basically knew that there was no way we were getting in the pit. I think it's bullshit that they can keep people from purchasing the best seats in a venue that only holds 4,000. Fuck Ticketmaster. I'll gladly give the members of Tool over $80 to see a show, its the other 25 to ticketbastard I have a problem with.

yea i know what you mean. the ticketmaster i go to is at kroger cuz its the only one in town. its almost always the same ladies working and they all know what theyre doing so its cool. got tickets there to the small venue tour in detroit in 2006 as well. i know that sold out in pretty much the same time.

You have to be careful though, because if there are several people there for the same show (at Kroger, that is) they will give out numbered tickets "randomly" to form the line and regardless of who was there first, you might have to wait in line to buy your tickets because the number that you were given is higher than the other people. I prefer being at home with the computer and the phone line as options. With that being said, a friend got shut out of tickets yesterday while calling on three different phones at the same time and trying online.

I think that it will be a pretty good mix of 10k days, Lateralus, Aenima, maybe one off of either undertow/opiate, maybe a cover too?
I think that off of 10k days they will play Vicarious, Jambi, The Pot, and Right in Two (all of which are killer live IMO)
As for the rest of the albums, maybe 3-4 songs each off of Lateralus and Aenima, and 1 undetow or opiate song and a cover.
I think a set list like above would be amazing, but I am happy with any set list. We should all be happy to see Tool at all in a year that nobody expected a tour.
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
I hope they play (not in this order particulary)
off 10k days:
Jambi
Rosetta
Right in Two
off Lateralus:
The Grudge
extended schism
d/r/t maybe with a twist to Triad
Lateralus (probably to close)
off Aenima:
extended Stinkfist
46and2
Pushit
Aenema
off Undertow:
anything except Sober
Those are just songs I think they could play and hope to see. Of course I'd like Third Eye but dont see them playing that one. Also hope to see some re-works/jam sessions. Not too crazy about cover songs though.

Funny, I thought kind of the opposite. If I were guessing, I'd give Third Eye a better shot than D/R/T. Thats just me.
I'd love to get D/R/T live again, but I just get the feeling certain song suites or for that album's tour, and then they're retired.

At least you're being realistic...
Anyway, I have figured out that the only thing that we KNOW we can expect is the unexpected. If we post a bunch of setlists that we are dying to see, I would almost expect to hear none of those songs. Maybe a bit of reverse psychology could be used here? Let me try first:
I'd love to hear:
Sober
Prison Sex
Stinkfist
H
Aenema
Schism
Vicarious
short and sweet, we can get to bed early.
They should never play:
Jerk Off
4 Degrees
Bottom
Eulogy
Jimmy
Third Eye
The Grudge
The Patient
Jambi
Intension/Right In Two
Lateralus
Opiate

Whadda ya think?
haha nice. god how bad would it suck if they really did play that first setlist
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
Hey, has anybody going to the Fairfax show actually received their tickets from TM? I bought two from stubhub and am completely anxious and paranoid that I'm going to get fucked over. They say the seller will ship when the tickets arrive.
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
Let's see... not much time to prepare for this 3 week tour with MJK off on his wine signings... history of not changing up the setlist... playing at festivals not necessarily for hard core Tool fans...
Doesn't look good for getting a dream setlist. Considering the tour is built around the festival dates, I believe the setlist will be as well. Sorry, that means all of the singles you've heard a million times will be played, along with some usual staples. Here's my guess:
Sober
Stinkfist
Jambi
46&2
Schism
Parabola
Aenema
The Pot
Vicarious
Lateralus
Not necessarily in that order.
