Well it all depends if you want to be able to sit or not. I'd probably go with the seats behind the pit if you don't want to have to stand the entire time. But if you're like me and stand the whole time anyways then pit may be the best. I haven't decided if I'm getting seats or pit yet though...front row of seats would be an amazing view but I'm still debating.
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
I think to soak in the full experience you have to be just a little ways back. I've only been to one standing room only show and was about 4 rows from the stage and hated it. I moved my ass to the back so I could actually see the entire stage. Also I'm not really the biggest people person so being crammed on top of abuncha sweaty people and missing the first 2 songs because I was trying to keep myself standing up really pissed me off.

I have 3 tickets for the mile high fest. Unfortunately, none of my friends really like Tool that much. I think they're tired of hearing me rant and rave about them. HAHA!
God I can't wait. I did boomers at the last Tool show in Denver in November 2007, mind blowing experience. The stage lights were very soothing, thank you Junior.
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
So, I had an email address for someone that works at the Pearl and I sent her an email. This was my email "Is there any information about when Tool tickets go onsale for the July show this summer?"
I got an immediate response "Tool is not scheduled at the Pearl this summer"
I dunno... This person is not a friend of mine or anything, its just an email address I happened to have, so she could be just feeding me a line. Or, there could be no Tool shows at the Palms this summer.
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
So there is definitely going to be a pit area for Dallas? I know that some of the seats in the front sections are reserved for those with VIP Club memberships and Platinum Seat Licenses at the Nokia. Has anyone here been to a show at the Nokia? How hard is it to get a seat in the front section when the pit is open considering that some of the rows are already reserved? And does anyone know exactly how big the pit area is? I can't get the virtual tour to load for some reason off their website.

You must know someone who knows someone to get the seats in the 100s. Or pay out your ass on e-bay. Pit area is maybe 100-200? people if that.
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
Well tomorrow is the day for all of us attending the Dallas Show... Too bad the "ticket hackers" will have all the good seats before the general public has access...Does anyone (junior) have ANY idea who the supporting act MIGHT be for the NON festival dates ? They should do what Fleetwood Mac is doing on their current tour. They have no opener and they are playing a 2 1/2 hour set. At least thats how it was in Tulsa. I suppose its time to speculate on the setlist?? Personally I think it will be somewhat of a variety since there is no new album to promote.

Nope. I'm not even sure whose "turn" it is to pick one (although they all have to agree on one, it's usually suggested by one of the four on a rotating basis.) I doubt they've picked one yet.
I'd be happy just to know where the shows are going to be, first and foremost.

Yeah , I was wanting to wait until ALL the dates were released before I bought tickets and travelved to a show (4 & 1/2 hour drive to Dallas) incase they decided to book an Oklahoma date, but that looks unlikely due to the short length of the tour. I will buy tickets this morning for the Dallas show and if they end up playing a date in OK then I guess I will just have to go to 2 shows on this tour : )

Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
Heads-up for those of you hoping to go "back door" and call a TM location in the middle of nowhere hoping to find a nice ticket agent that will put your request in right at the on-sale time. They got rid of all those #s, and you have to call the national "800" line.
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
I got two tickets for the Dallas Show, section 302. I cannot believe this, I went in to Ticketmaster at 10:00 am sharp, requested for two tickets in "Section Best Available" and all I got was two for section 302. Since I knew that if I requested two different tickets I would get even worse ones, I decided to keep these. I am still happy that I am going, but I gues what Trent Reznor was saying is true, that TM feeds the better tickets directly to scalpers.

Found a Howard Johnson's about 1 mile from Nokia for $50 a night. And someone posted something about a big Horse Race going near by, if you want to get your gamble on.
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
got 2 tickets in section 406 row S (absolute last row in the house) and took them just to be safe. Then I tried again and got section 206 row DD. Hmmm, which ones should I keep and which ones should I try to sell?

Yep, they went quick. Get this crap. The word i got was... "Anthropomorphic $2,998" Someone at ticketbastard hates me!!! Anyhow got me a single row A 407. Not a bad seat to take it all in.
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
I have 4 upper level Tickets for the Dallas show. I really want two lower level tickets. I would be willing to trade 4 upper's for two lower's. Please email me at [email protected] if you are interested.
How can you get the best tickets and sell the right away? Because you are obviously not a fan and you are in bed with TM. Those bastards...I am sure almost anyone in this board got a ticket but if you didn't, and wanted to go this show, please do not buy from these bastards.
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
I managed to get 2 tickets in section 307 Row CCC. I just noticed they are stamped "Obstructed View." Anyone familiar with this theater? There aren't any beams or bars that I can see. Maybe the handrail? Maybe from that height stage lighting? I'm excited to have any tickets, but a bit worried about my view.

I count 50 tickets on EBAY for this show - not that bad and quite frankly that is the reality of the concert business these days (along wtih $45 t-shirts)
Did any posters go through the TA presale? I see a lot of complaints about TM but how about the fan club seats?
"Yeah Tool is fucking amazing. But there’s a big chunk of their fan base that think they’ve become thought provoking geniuses just from listening to them."
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
I got one seat in 206 row HH, one of my friends got 205 row EE, and my other friend got 2 PIT tickets. I think the guy that got 205 is buying the extra pit ticket and selling his seat to one of our other friends. I'm pretty happy with what I got, should be very good view.
I am mad that at 9:59 the tickets popped up for sale and I clicked pit and they were already gone. Then by the time I was done with my order there was a seperate section on the page for pit tickets which was not there when I searched for mine. My friend who got 205 said the same thing happened to him. So it seems the pit tickets weren't available the same second that the other ones were. Strange but oh well, I'm content.
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
well i managed to get two pit tickets, im traveling from Mexico...so, if you have some advice on what to do in Dallas that weekend that will be awesome.
See you all there
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
I don't think there was a TA presale. I am not a member but I didn't see anything about a TA presale.
Any lightning ideas for the upcoming tour, Junior?
By the way, this morning I was listening to a bootleg of a WA concert from the 10,000 Days tour. This audio includes the intermission part, where those 3 circular structures (the alien ships) came down a little bit and started making these noises and rotating a little bit. Then I remembered when I saw this at the Houston show (Nov. 2007). I seriously thought that the aliens were going to come down and abduct the audience.
What was the idea behind this, Junior? I thought it was cool but for me it didn't feel like a natural transition from Flood to Wings fro Marie Pt. 1. I liked the distortion sound during the Intermission from the last leg of the Lateralus Tour and the band sitting down onstage during the European leg (fall 2006) of the 10,000 Days Tour but the "alien machines"...cool but they seemed awkward.
