I must be truly blessed today because i managed to get 8th row side stage for Tulsa on my second try this morning right at the moment of on sale.
From what ive seen today on here and facebook 90 percent of it was pissed off people about the venue sold out and scalpers suck,and that truly sux! i feel your pain i have paid scalper sites and ebay 500 plus a pair in the past more than once too!
Something i do know though to increase your success is to search for a single ticket,most people were searching for pairs and then failed. Im glad i wasnt taking a bitch to this show,i think thats how i scored such a great ticket. Also guys keep your eyes peeled for tickets on the day of show because the artist and venue generally release something day of show,like guest tickets or radio station reserves etc. Good luck guys i know it sux.

It would be nice if Tool would simply offer good tickets in a presale "as a salute to [their] distinguished Collective". I mean they can include good tickets in a $500 money grab and manage to call that allowing fans to "reap the benefits of [their] membership," but they can't offer up comparable tickets to keep those same fans from getting fucked by ticketmaster? I did the VIP in Vegas a year ago and it was a cool experience, but let's not pretend like this is something they are doing because they love their fans. They love their money. Period.

What they could also do is offer up tickets that are will call only, with entrance only by cc used for the original purchase. It's not that uncommon these days.

Salival was released at the height of Napster. Closest thing I can think of. To be honest, I might have actually downloaded NQ and the other Salival tracks on Napster before it was actually released.

Lateralus did NOT leak onto Napster 6 months later, if my memory serves me correctly. Schism did. But the rest of the record did not.

The ticket situation was shit. I managed to score tickets for Dallas and Tulsa. Dallas was pure shit house luck(although I did get into the waiting room about an hour before Onsale and just let it sit there) those tics are row K in the first section from the stage!!! For ticketmaster on the Tulsa show I was able to get 120 row D!!! For future, I recommend using the App! I pulled up nothing on 2 different PCs. The app works best. If you go into settings on your phone and allow push notifications you don't have to go through the captcha and choose those stupid pictures....you simply hit find tickets and the go back. You can search MUCH faster this way. Sucks so many good fans got shut out.

I just had it done that way a few months ago for a U2 concert. It worked perfectly and I was on the floor up close, face value, no stress during the onsale. Btw, U2 are excellent live even though I am not a big fan of their music.

True. TM releases blocks of tickets but from what I gathered from yesterday talking to the resale sites the "scalpers" are now secondary ticket sites that get "exclusive" contracts with TM to buy tickets before they go on sale. Further reducing the amount of public tix available for the on-sale time. Capitalism sucks sometimes.

There's hundreds of tickets available for the Charlotte show through scalpers, but I couldn't get one through ticketmaster... Lame, I'm not dropping $250 for a ticket and hopefully nobody else will either.

It would probably be real cool. Actually watching bands perform in stadiums isn't much to see to begin with as only a small percentage of the crowd can actually see the band, and considering the band isn't much to watch themselves in the first place, Tool is tailor made for stadiums. The production would be over the top, visually. A big ass open air Junior show? Sign me up.

If arenas are selling this hot a ticket now almost literally 10 years removed from a record, it's a possibility. A lot of the new MLB parks (Citi Field in NY/ Citizens Bank in Philly) aren't really that big and have a 32k or so live music capacity.

If the next record has a song that does as well as Schism**, I would bet on this.

**Amendment to that statement. I understand the entire landscape of music and entertainment has changed since a 6:00+ running time piece of music was a chart topping hit single in 2001, and that sort of success would be difficult to replicate, but this band has never, ever failed to defy odds. So. Maybe.

Considering the instant sell out of all arena shows when they go on sale, I think a stadium tour would be the next logical step for Tool. This next tour is 10 years after their last album, yet still has instant sell outs in arenas. It would be good financially and to compensate to their huge fan base to play stadiums. Don't know whether the band is willing to do that or not; lots of flaws of playing Stadiums. A lot of bands don't like playing stadiums, and wouldn't be surprised if Tool wasn't interested. But if they decided to take that step, I think it would be successful.

They could setup in the middle of a desert and sell out.
And TM would still find a way to fuck over fans.
