Even as I claw your fucking throat away."

Re: What is your favorite part of this song?

so yeh i only just found this song recently... and i never really like pushit from aenima... and now i positively hate it when i hear it, cuz it seems like such a pathetic version in comparison to this... now like my equal favortite song or sumtihn. fuck its beautifull

I love the lyrics throughout the whole first softer section... and then that long lazy ass guitar solo just fits so perfectly, nd send ya spinning...

prolly only way to better listenin to this song... is to play it yourself lol

Re: What is your favorite part of this song?

so incredibly late in finding this thread, but i only just heard the complete song three days ago. have to say that it's my favorite.

1). from 5:51 until 7:06.

[and i'm slipping back into the gap again
i feel alive when you touch me
i feel alive when you hold me down]

just an amazing vocal line soaring over everything, and the tabla solo afterwards is a really great transition into the aenima-reminiscent section.

2). 11:26 and out really brings me to to the ground, emotionally. and the the last 'it will end no other way' gives me chills.

Re: What is your favorite part of this song?

yeahhh. before i downloaded the song on sunday, i'd only heard the 9:59 that's on youtube. the tabla and guitar solos had been cut.

i'm a pretty new Tool fan - (just started listening intensely in October) - and i wish i'd been exposed to them much earlier. and i'm kicking myself that i just barely missed the tour.

"Who am I to judge or strike you down."

"There's no love in fear!"

"Pushed you away my dear."

The entire song is beautiful, but those are the parts of Pushit that get to me the most.

Re: What is your favorite part of this song?

This may be irrelevant, and I really don't know if any of you have seen this, but here is Pushit [live] in 2001 on YouTube, although, it's extended even further in Adam's solo after the breakdown, and the intro comes on a little differently:

• Pushit [live] 2001 pt.1 8:48
• Pushit [live] 2001 pt.2 6:51

|• Combination Time Limit - 14:99 minutes, or 15:39 minutes •|

I hope you all enjoy those. I love this song, as well. I would love to see TOOL bring this song back as a perfect closing song for the tour.

Take care.

-Andrew

When their tour starts back up, look into Winston Salem NC and Greensboro SC. These concerts are near where I live, and

I'M FREAKING GOING MAN! WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOO!

If the tour ever gets going again this year anyway. I hope Danny recovers man.... On behalf of him, that really sucks.

Otherwise,
the very opening part of Pushit when the guitar firsts opens out.
the drum solo in the middle of the song
and the "I must persuade you another way" part

are my favorites.

my thoughts exactly but sadly i don't think Maynard is able to hit those notes anymore. especially the climax at the end.
let's be honest this song was written 11 if not 12 years ago. Maynard is 42.
just gotta let go i guess. and those who experienced Pushit live should consider themselves lucky.

Im sooo happy!!!!
They are coming to my area!!! I just got my tickets to the bham AL show. they arent good but I got them at 10:03 am only 3 minutes after they went on sale. the verizon wireless center is cool outside venue and Im really looking forward to it. I hope they dont have to play in a thunderstorm again! Although listening to enima when its a downpour with lighting running across the sky is pretty damn cool.

I personally believe "Pushit" is without a doubt THE best Tool Song. The best parts of the song are at 3:07 and 8:26. When Maynard sings at those parts I get the CHILLS!

Re: What is your favorite part of this song?

I work nights, so I put on music to block out the kids noises, during day when I sleep and a few years ago someone recommended Tool, and I had it on my player. And every day I woke up to this exact song, and it was just so...strange. He has me right from the start when he makes that little speech, it's mesmerising. He must have the most beautiful voice I've ever heard from a man. And the lyrics are brilliant...but there is something about that " I will choke until I swallow..." .and the part with the drums....but it's all ..just amazing. Chills, deeply emotional.

I love the bit at 3.50 when Maynard comes in - from then on the sound of the band sounds much bigger than three muscians and a singer. In fact, when I listen to this version I am constantly amazed how much complex sound the band can produce.

The version they're doing on the latest tour has MJK doing a slightly different intonation for the last couple lines. "Pushit" is my least favorite Tool song yet I still think it sounds better than ever.
