That 2006 Gorge show was great, and from what I remember it was towards the very start of the first 10,000 Days run. Only downside to that show was the visuals were pretty minimal. Like some light drape type of thing? Either way, you can't beat the Gorge as a setting for a Tool show.
Just saw them here in Boise last night. What a fucking show. I didnt think they could top the last leg of the 10,000 days arena visuals back in December 2007 when I saw them here, but the full LED backdrop/panels they are using now is so fucking amazing. Makes the stage so HUGE.
Highlights for me from last night...
- Opiate's extended middle "post rock" sounding section and the cathedral stained glass visuals
- Descending's visuals and the lead in to Jambi
- Danny's solo and visuals (staring into the sigillum was extremely hypnotic with Danny's playing)
- Justin rocking the fuck out
- Being reminded how much I love the video for Vicarious
- Stinkfist as an ender had so much energy (and the once again confetti bombs at the end)

Yeah, I didn't think it was likely Tool would record this year (but I was still hopeful). The APC tour pretty much rules out that possibility.

Adam noted in the VIP for Chicago that the album is almost finished. Which i would think probably means they will nail out the last track or two from now until the end of APC's tour and then Tool can record sometime early next year. Just before the spring/summer touring season.

I'm going to see them Saturday at Glen Helen. How long did it take for the other bands to go before Primus? We start at 2pm and i don't want to wait too long before Primus and TOOL. Thanks!

All the bands playing at Glen Helen are well worth seeing. Get there at 2pm, enjoy the ride, and don't worry too much about what time Primus and Tool come on

Glen Helen is the ONLY show with the bands we get save for the Chrystal Method. Tool 9pm. 2pm doors with bands starting at 3pm.

I agree with you on just about everything you wrote. Yes the visuals at the 2017 Gorge show were much better than the visuals at the 2006 show and very excited to see them again whenever they come back to the Seattle area or The Gorge. Danny's drum solo blew my mind! Knowing the setlist before hand that was not my most anticipated part but after witnessing it, it became one of my most memorable parts of the show. Also I was hoping for The Pot or Euology but was not disappointed in Vicarious.

San Jose was pretty killer. We got The Pot, visually stunning night.
Is it my imagination or is Adam playing better than ever?

Not your imagination. Adam was great at The Gorge last weekend.

California bound in 6 more hours! Hitting the San Bernardino show, hoping they allow some lasers to this outdoor venue (unlike monstermash restrictions they had). Anyway it plays out, going to be a long day full of great music! It's gonna be a hot one (but I'm from az. where we just had 119 degree weather, so I'll live lol) see ya on the lawn!

Other outdoor shows this tour have had lasers, so assuming it's not under a flight path or something I assume it'll be fine.

Just woke up still chilling in bed, wife just brought me some coffee. Going to head up to Sacramento around 10:30 to give myself and hour to grab some grub. San Jose was awesome stoked to get a 2nd show tonight!

From Toolband: There is another small article about Tool in the OC WEEKLY - this time it's JUSTN talking about tomorrow's SAN BERNARDINO show, which he says, "In San Bernardino it'll be full on. It'll be the biggest show of the whole tour."
I wonder what "full on" means?
