probably not gonna happen what with the big screams throughout the song but damn wouldn't it be nice to end the tour with maynard basically saying."but of course i can still hit those with ease, see ya next time around"....what a rush what a rush

I'm sure Maynard could pull off "Ticks & Leeches". He uses a lot of vocal distortion to help limit the strain on his voice. Plus if you take into consideration the screams on "Rosetta Stoned" that he pulls off at every show. "Ticks & Leeches" is possible. Not to mention it's the end of the tour so he may be a little harsher on his voice...oh what the fuck? Listen to me, I am actually believing that they will play that song...uh, I make myself sick...

I bought a tour t-shirt (short sleeve) at the Dallas, TX show during the Fall 2006 tour. It was somewhere like $40 or $45 if I remember correctly.

Come back to reality my friend! :P
We are getting the following
Jambi
Stinkfist (Ext.)
46 & 2
Schism (Ext.)
Lost Keys
Rosetta Stoned
Flood
Wings for Marie
10,000 Days (Wings Part 2)
Lateralus (w Ext drum solo)
Vicarious
If they were to change any of that, it would be to add possibly- The Pot, Right In Two, or Pushit. I suppose Swamp Song or Ænema could also make an appearance.

I have the strangest sensation that they'll open with vicarious because of the video's release. I think its a pretty bad ass opener...hehe

Haha, I'm doing kinda the same thing from Dallas. Drivin to Houston Friday afternoon for the show, then baylor / osu game, then Smashing pumpkins on sunday night in dallas, and hopefully still be alive for Tulsa.
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
Alright guys we are getting really close to showtime. Tmax and I were wondering about getting a recording device into a venue. We are going to shows in Houston, Tulsa, and LA. We are pretty sure there are metal detectors at Toyota Center (Houston) and Nokia Theatre (LA). Do you guys think we could get it in by putting the recording device in our shoe or something. And also once recording a show what is the best way to do it? Do you guys suggest holding the device or setting it under your chair? What do you suggest to set the settings on for the recorder? Any help is much appreciated. We are willing to share the audio with all.

Good stuff. I was gonna get tickets to that concert, however, when I finally got serious about going there were only the 300 sections left. So I'm glad I saved my money for tool. Did you get good seats for pumpkins? I have been following this recent tour online, I love the new pumpkins they need to come to Oklahoma they play a long and really great set from looking at their setlists http://smashingpumpkins.com/photos_gallery_1018 they are legit! There is NOT ONE band though that can compare with Tool. Good conversation though!

Heh- not that we can't dream!
You know me- Jimmy just once and I'll go out happy. I swear! I tell ya tho, I could really stand to see Pushit again.
But you know, while we're on this, let me tell you guys this much-
FLOOD IS THE BOMB LIVE!
Even if you are not that familiar with the older material. That song single-handedly saved the show I saw them do in Belgium. It just flat kicks ass. And if they do the full intro with vid, get ready to be stunned! Especially if you did not get it yet for those who have seen multiple shows.

I agree with you on "Flood" as well. They played it in Chicago and if that was the last song of the night I wouldn't have cared because of how good it was. There definately will be SOME change in the set for this leg but I'm sure nothing epic as "Ticks & Leeches", "Third Eye" or anything off of "Opiate" (except maybe "Opiate").

Hells yeah!!! I got in in Cedar Rapids!!! I had not seen that song since the Undertow tour back in 1994. I'm going to the Tulsa show. It will be my 5th show of the 10Kdays tour, and 10th overall.
Same set list?? - Probably.
Do I care?? - Fuck No!!!! They are the best live band in the world!!!!!
I do hope to hear Swamp Song though. **Crosses Fingers**

while following the setlists of the shows night after night, i was stunned the first time i read FLOOD!!!!!! on the setlist this was played shortly after ALL of us lucky ones who witnessed pushit in S.D. I couldn't believe they pulled that one out of the archives. I wouldn't be a bit upset to hear either song in S.F no doubt.....T&L is a pipe dream for sure, but......let's break out the pipe!!!!!!!!!!

I think I would cry if they played The Patient haha. That's been one of my top 5 favorite Tool songs for many many years.

That will be a sick trip dude. As far as recording goes, I have no experience but it seems alot of good recordings come from people who taped the mic/s to their hat or glasses. It will be awesome if one of you all can pull a recording from a show, best of luck to ya. Oh yeah I've also seen talk about using multiple people to carry their recording equipment into the venue, might try that.
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
I'm pretty sure it will get taped. Hopefully by the same guy who did the OKC show. However, he wasn't too happy about me converting and sharing the mp3's. Anyhow, if the recording pops up I'll upload and post links to people who want it.
Can't freaking wait til the 19th. I still can't believe they are playing in Tulsa 20 mins from my house. This will be Tool's last ever performance in the Convention Center, since the BOK arena will be done soon. And Tool's last performance in Oklahoma for probably another 5-6 years. I suggest you make the most of it boys. 2012's a LONG wait.

Here's hoping for a recording of this Tulsa show that sounds better than the OKC recording from the last tour.

it depends what you consider an encore. if by encore you mean when the show is over and they leave off stage and come back on, then no.
however, after their intermission, when they all sit on stage, lighters up in the air blah blah blah the last 3 or 4 songs after that is considered the encore by many.

They played an encore at the Southaven Mississippi show earlier this year. They went offstage for a few mins and they came back out and picked up their stuff and ..."Hey Hey Hey....Some say the end is near"...it was awesome

For People who are going to the Vegas show, or have been to a show in Vegas
What time do you guys think the show will be over? I've got a flight to catch at 12:45am on the 15th - you think the show will be over 11ish or so or do vegas shows often start/end later?
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
I hope the Las Vegas shows are a little different than last time. The only reason I mention it is I think a lot of the people who went to the last shows at The Pearl are going back again.
If they are the exact same I suppose they'll be the best ever all over again.

The last time they played The Pearl the shows ended at 11:00pm. I don't think you'll have enough time to leave the venue/hotel and get to the airport, go through security and check in (all within 90 minutes).

Spoon. It will be over by 11:00 PM. Doors open at 8:00, they will take the stage at 9:00 PM and they play 2 hours. Good luck on catching the flight. The line for the taxi in front of the Palms is a good 40 minute wait on Friday nights at 11:00 PM.
