Yes, I'd like to see this list, as well. I'd say that Midnight Oil's "Power and the Passion" drum solo can whup the fuck out of most famous drum solos. I'd imagine that at least three of the top four are famous, "movers-and-shakers" bullshit that is of abhorrent quality and had no function other than being early examples of studio-recorded drum solos.
Which is always sad, when the top of the list of "best whatever" is not a display of true talent in the area, but a display of early talent in the area.
It's truly disgusting. These lists would probably make more sense if they were made by monkeys.
As I'm sure most drummers are aware.....this song was rated #5 for best drum solo in a rock song. This song isn't just great for the drumming alone, but I believe it's a flashback to Undertow. It has that same raw emotion.
Another interesting note is that Dan Carey has been quoted as saying that if he had a weakness on drums, it would be his double kick ability. Funny, but I wonder if he was joking when I listen to this tune. His double kick ability is simply tight. Any other thoughts?
His saying that was in reference to the double-kick techniques of the likes of Dave Lombardo and the speed metal guys. The drummer from Slipknot, etc. These guys roll double bass through an entire album and as Danny said, it really is a different ball game.

I just read that Danny was rated the #1 Drummer of all time for his varied style, his toyt like a tiger technique, and his utter creativity in rythym creation.
