Those liner notes are clearly fake in that they list Gardner and Larrakin as Tool's management. Tool sued Gardner and Larrakin after Aenima and have not been managed by them since.

i'm confused as to why there are so many people who say that its so lame that people come up with these theories on hoaxes and whatnot, why do they bother reading this stuff if their point is even valid, i mean do they live in the rumours section as well, and if so, what is their motivation if only to piss themselves off?

those pictures were already disproved as being fake. otherwise, yeah, u would have a good arguement. but the whole strew of pictures from that book are not real.

Sure, I agree. It looks like a crude fake. But thats the fun of it: there are messages in those apparent fakes. The message is: this is a Joke, a bogus leak, we are playing our fan base; We post truth in lies, lies in truth. Smoke and Mirrors, nothing is what it seems.

Okay, zet, it's fake. Any of the supposed clues that you're finding in all of this don't exist because I know the person who made this "album art". Secondly, this was put in the fake album art thread a long time ago. There's nothing in it except for some hilarious esoteric plugs.

slow down dude. I'm just sharing my thoughts here on my suspicion that Tool is undertaking a very funny and interesting launch method of their new Album. What i'm saying is:

-The leaked MP4-set is *part* genuine, part bogus (but very well done)
-Done by the band
-surrounded by bits and pieces of information and clues.
-Done in such a way that it confuses some and even enrages some others.
(thats what I mean with "truth in lies" etc. Its an old "tradecraft" technique: hid genuine information in apparent bogus information. Nothing esoteric, just fun stuff for people who like to think, deceive and expose)

The message is: think, dont follow. Question Authority. Question T.D.N's statements ("known lies" "known to be fake"). Question your own fan-hood. Be honest. Dont be a fan: enjoy the art+ message.

exactly what I'm suggesting. Its a very, very clever ploy. Designed to confuse and amaze. Side effect is that if some dumbfuck bootlegger is spinning copies right now to sell for 2 bucks on a fair, he is out of luck come may 2nd.

I've not been very clear, sorry for that.

I think this leaked arrangement is composed of some genuine songs of the new album (1 at least, the first) and part b-sides, outtages, re-hashed other, possibly modified material.

Blair announced the decoy very clearly last year, and that is also part of standard "tradecraft": overexpress your intentions, the other party (ie: us) then start to doubt it and seeks deeper meaning.

Very intesting and clever, very toolish.

I always thought Blair said what he said about the decoy so most people would dispell it as a joke, or bullshit. Sine he knows everyone thinks he speaks shit he knew that it would be ignored, hiding the probabilty of being true. Quite clever.

I will be very happy if I'm right. I just listened to the latest leak (better quality) and still am and will remain disapointed if thats the genuine article.

Lots of people are saying this RNS "scene rip" is clear proof that this is it, but I just keep hoping we're being played a very clever and elaborate joke.

Just got 3 tickets for the Luxembourg show on the 31th of may. Thats gonna be cool, either way ;-)
