Don't know how many of you know about Paul D'Amour's project, Feersum Ennjin, but it's good stuff. Anyway, it could obviously just be a coincidence, but I can't see why Tool wouldn't be driven to do a Native American related segue as sarcasm directed Paul D'Amour's way, with Lipan Conjuring.

Why? Because his band's name is Feersum Ennjin, and indians are sometimes referred to as Injuns? I'm pretty sure Paul is on good terms with the band.

Not that this means anything in relation to the original post specifically but Paul's Feersum Ennjin project is named after an Iain Banks book called "Feersum Endjinn." Banks also wrote "The Wasp Factory" which was on one of TOOL's recommended reading lists back in the day. Also, the video for Lusk's "Backworlds" was based on "The Wasp Factory."

More pertinently, the intro to 'Vicarious' is very similar to that of 'Lines' on the Feersum Ennjin EP.

paul has remained on good terms with a tool and only left to explore other options and do something "more creative".

He's said that multiple times, as well as "I'm so glad that happened" in a radio interview...couldn't begin to remember a link tho...sorry.

Somewhere in the 'TOOL Bigger than Jesus (Easter Special)' Maynard says something like - we got rid of adam because otherwise we would have killed him. Personally, I love Justin, but Paul's sound was great too. Danny put it nicely in that interview too.
