Scorpion and Maynard
Anyone know the singnifiance of the scorpion in relation to Maynard? He does have the back tattoo that a lot of people mistake for his spine...

The kundalini idea seems possible. I'll have to look into it, but I just read up on chakras and kundalini and whatnot. The idea of the original creative energy laying coiled at the base of the spine, and the image of a scorpion, tail poised to strike, seems interesting, if nothing else.
