Banning.

There should be a section that shows why people get banned. Like show the post/behavior that lead to banning/probation in it's own place so everyone can see it and learn from it so they won't do the same. It would also stop people from asking why other people got banned/probed. I thought it was a good idea at least.

Re: Banning.

I'll second that. Maybe just a stickied thread in the bin, with a new post for each probe/ban quoting the inappropriate comment or post? (Wouldn't apply to spammers or bogus accounts, etc.)

Re: Banning.

People have asked for this at other forums too...it's a weird idea, like getting the stats of why everyone is in prison.

I don't think there's any reason to need to know the examples so you know what gets you banned...it's pretty damn hard to get banned from here so there's not really a need to worry.

lol. The entire bin front page would consist of new stickies. No.

If you want to know why someone isnt able to post, send them a message to find out.

He asked for one thread with a post for each banning, not a thread for each banning. I don't see why this is a problem, it would be informative for everybody.

That would mean admins have to show some accountability for their actions, since they were voted into their assumed position.

not all were. and the mods do show accountability for their actions, its just that people around here bitch to much about the reasons.

There has been one vote, happened a long time ago. All the others were nominated in by current mods and admins. Accountability is not something I am scared of, but having users feel like they are owed anything in the way of explanation is pretty bullshit. What happens is between us and the users. Just read the rules and you'll be fine.

Re: Banning.

I think it's a good idea, just for the read, but it would probably be too much of a pain for the admins... plus speculation is good for the mind.
