Is it typical for Tool to alllow this much time between an album release and a video release?

here's a bit of information for the people who keep asking "where is this video?". 1.) there were complications with the CG before the finishing stages. 2.) this occured right before they started touring. 3.) THEY HAVE BEEN ON TOUR SINCE THIS 4.) consequently the video has taken a bit of a backseat. everyone just needs to be patient, and let them finish when they have the time to do so. oh yea. 5.) guitar hero 2 is out. there's no telling how long the wait may be.
if any body is into cg work, please explain

it's all disappointing and unreasonable. The video would advertise the album and attract new fans and in this case ... eh
But you know tool wouldn't want that...
more fans leads to more money, more money leads to more bills to pay,
more bills to pay leads to more videos.
more videos leads to senseless postings on a bulletin about when the next video is coming out...

A. He'd come up with the obvious solution.
Poo on You, it's not about uniqueness, Adam simply didn't manage to create video on time, there's nothing deliberate and unique in it, and You're talking like it was their deliberate idea not to issue the video....it's frustrating that they say nothing about the video which everyone awaits so eagerly.
And whom does tool need to advertise to?
What purpose would it have?
Why would it be unique not to do so?

I'm not saying, they have to advertise themseleves, thewy have a lot of fans, but I want them to fulfil at least their fans' wish and finally release the video or at least give some info

This is sad. The year is almost over, the album has been out for 7 months, and there still isn't a video. Obviously Tool had more then a dispute with their digital media company.
