Doors

I know the reference to Jim Morrison is apparent in another post but this doesn't really fit with what his thread is about. I strongly feel that this song is a satire/takeoff of the Doors. This cheesy (don't get me wrong I love the Doors) mysticism and the ridiculousness of the behavior of the "friend" on x etc. builds a Doors-sounding song with content/lyrics that parody the image and subject matter of what Maynard must believe is a faux-spiritual, Faux-intellectuall and mindlessly self-indulgent band.

Re: Doors

Yeah, first time I heard it, I thought the beginning of it sounded almost identical to the intro to "The End".
