It's still about 2.5 months until the first show. Tour decisions have been made less in advance than that in the past.

c'mon it's almost 140 pages

Really? Hmmmm
I saw 10K 8 times and MJK seemed to be irritated on many nights. I know the whole deal about the flash bulbs, but playing a whole show with your back to the audience is kind of bogus in my book.

but that's the charm of Maynard I guess,,,
If you are referring to the first SD show on the second leg, some asshole thought it was funny shining a laser pointer right in his face. He was justified turning his back to the audience, if you ask me. That thing was right in his eyes and I was just 4 rows from the stage to see it.

In this case it was Miami and it was flash cameras, not trying to start the face the audience debate here - I've seen the band 25 plus times over the years and have seen much worse than a laser pointer...
there are plenty of jackasses out there...playing giant shows does not help.

You've obviously have never been there before. Some of the best scenery in the southern part of the state and some of the hottest women in the Provo/SLC area. Trust me I know.

I guess Runner was counting down to the ticketmaster posting of the show. If I remember right, most of the 2006/2007 shows were announced 2 months prior to the date.

Damn. I was hoping to be top of page 140.
LOL! Was thinking the same thing. For the last couple weeks I've been holding off making summer plans until I knew when TOOL was heading out. Then earlier today someone asked me what I was doing Saturday, and with a straight face I said, "not sure, might have to sit in front of my computer to try to score some Tool tickets, but then again, I might not."

Dude, take your kid! She gets in for free! I'm driving from Texas, and taking my wife and 5 year-old daughter...she loves TOOL, btw...
...reports I've read say it's one of the more comfortable new festivals around...if it does get rough up close, just back off a bit and put your kid on your shoulders. Suppossddly there's plenty of room to move around...it's no Red Rocks for sure, but it's still in Colorful Colorado!

My friends in Denver have given this fest mixed reviews, I looked at the venue website and got pretty stoked, then I found out it was in the parking lot(!) It's gonna be sunny and warm - leave that black 10K Days shirt at home :)
I even like a couple of bands on Sunday - Gov't Mule rocks hard - despite being lumped in with jam bands.

Ok, wow. Hard to know where to start here. First off, Coachella has to pay the city of Indio $1000 per minute past midnight that a performer goes over curfew. So between Macca and the Cure's sets this past year, they owed around $90,000 dollars. I think they are contesting it but they'll probably lose.
Now I don't know about Lolla. But I can comment that when Tool plays a festival, you will be lucky to get a set of 1 1/2 hours out of them. That's ALL they do, regardless of location or alloted time.
Now I'll grant you they might alter that edict a bit with only a few dates on the slate. I've always thought that Tool has kept their performances short because of Maynard. But we might luck out and get some longer sets this time out because the 'nard might be less concerned about maintaining his vocals over the course of a longer tour.
