Somebody in the know told me that expiration date was actually 2018 and there were only a handful of voucher eligible tickets at each venue.
To top it off, you can't tell if the voucher will work unti the very last page of the checkout process. So it's a huge waste of time and energy.

Yeah that first TM list blows. Nothing in Denver. Not bad shows, just nothing.
I could go see slipknot in Albuquerque with all the other meth heads, yay.
Embryo is right, its a fucking joke for a settlement and getting tickets is even worse. I'm so glad the Denver show was sold through the venue site and not Axis.

I was able to get tickets for Prophets of Rage and then I also got tickets for Korn & Rob Zombie. I does suck that they only work for Lawn Tickets but I am going to 2 more concerts for free now. Plus the vouchers for $2.25 can be stacked.

I did not know that either until an article I read mentioned that. I think it was NY Times article but I can't be sure because I read several articles regarding the vouchers.

Thanks for the heads up on the vouchers. Checked my TM account and have 17 of the 2.25 ones and 17 of the free GA ones. There are some decent eligible shows where I am.

The voucher limit has already been reached for all the shows I'm interested in. Fucking stupid.
You're only allowed to stack a maximum of 2 voucher discounts for a grand total of $4.50, by the way.

IDK. I do think B Real would be interesting but I don't think either one of those guys can scream like ZDLR so that would be the downside for me.

Something tells me that this band is not about the screams.
I just watched them do Killing in The Name Of. It was good.

“The Stoner Witch record was the middle record of the three that we did with Atlantic. It wasn’t the best selling record from that time; Houdini was the best selling one but that was actually my least favourite of the three. I’m proud of all of those records though, and when you listen to them you can tell there’s not a lot of record company meddling going on. Stoner Witch in particular was a lot of fun to make, and we really learnt a lot in the studio on that one. I think it was the longest time we ever spent in the studio actually; 19 days, which for us is a long time. Bands like Tool obviously spend about six months on their albums, and they’ve spent about ten years putting together the new one. And they haven’t even started recording yet, but Adam [Jones, Tool guitarist] told me the shortest song they’ve been working on is twelve minutes long. Anyway, Stoner Witch was great."
Buzz osborne quote. Who knows how true it is lol.

I don't understand. There are 5 shows; It'd take about 2 minutes to edit the HTML page. Or does Blair have to get the OK from management to update the tour page, too?

With all the frenzy regarding "12 minute songs" is anybody else disturbed by the "but they haven't even started recording" part of the King Buzzo quote?

With all the frenzy regarding "12 minute songs" is anybody else disturbed by the "but they haven't even started recording" part of the King Buzzo quote?

No more so than I have been over the last 10 years. Personally I'm not expecting them to start recording until later this year anyway.

Since there isn't really anything better to discuss at the moment, how about a group effort to put words to asterisks from the April 2016 newsletter? If the nonsense is kept to a minimum, who knows what progress might be made...
Starting with the first "redacted" paragraph:
During a recent phone conversation with a certain band member, he told me the following: “Goddamn, I just ******* the *** **** ***** and it was pretty damn amazing! Of course, ** still has to **** **** of * *** ****** before ** **** ********, but what * *** was well ***** *** ****.”
During a recent phone conversation with a certain band member, he told me the following: “Goddamn, I just WATCHED the NEW TOOL VIDEO and it was pretty damn amazing! Of course, ** still has to **** **** of * *** ****** before IT GETS RELEASED, but what I SAW was well WORTH THE WAIT.”
Anyone have any ideas for what that middle part might say?

Not sure ** is (maybe Al = Alan Jones, Adam's brother/Tool's lawyer/Kanaduh's buddy). This Al theory may make sense based on this old fourtheye post from Hellboy: http://www.fourtheye.net/2008/07/too...ey-alan-jones/

Anyway, moving on to the next paragraph:
In other news, I was told (again, by a band member) that *** ******** made **** a good *****, so it ***** **** **** *** ** playing the ************** on *******! Of course, this doesn’t take into consideration a grey goo scenario involving self-replicating nanobots, VY Canis Majoris going hypernova, or even the more likely stumbling block of anthropogenic global warming from too many advanced personal vaporizers (APVs) using propylene glycol, which is NOT the main ingredient in antifreeze. There is also some talk about **** *****, but nothing ** ****** ** and, ***** *******at this time. So, keep your toes crossed.
In other news, I was told (again, by a band member) that *** ******** made TOOL a good OFFER, so it LOOKS LIKE TOOL MAY BE playing the VOODOOFESTIVAL on SAMHAIN! There is also some talk about MORE SHOWS, but nothing ** ****** ** and, ***** *******at this time. So, keep your toes crossed.
Obviously a lot undecoded in this paragraph, but who cares since it seems to just be about the shows that have already been announced at this point, so let's move on...

Word has it that the ***** for another **** song has been ******** at the ****, and that the fellows are off to a good ***** on ******* one. So, there you **** it.
Word has it that the MUSIC for another LONG song has been FINISHED at the LOFT, and that the fellows are off to a good START on ANOTHER one. So, there you HAVE it.
Ok, so just more talk of progress on the new album. Seems like the first paragraph was the most interesting and maybe the next thing to look forward to.

In reference to a new video, there is this piece from the April 2015 newsletter:
Q: “I think it was a few months ago that you and Danny Carey were on Rynne's radio show, Children of Saturn. Danny mentioned that there was a music ***** in the works for their song ***** and that that was the so called "*********". Was that really it? Also, is that even true? If so, could you give some more information on it?”
THE REPLY:
Having been a guest on the same show, and having shared a bottle of Remy Martin with Danny, I can tell you that - - YOU ARE ASKING QUESTIONS ABOUT THINGS. YOU ARE PRIMATIVE. YOU WILL CEASE FROM LISTENING TO THE CHILDREN OF SATURN. YOU ARE CLOSE. DO NOT GO TO THE AUTHORITIES… OR TO THE FOURTHEYE WEBSITE… THINGS CAN HAPPEN. WE KNOW ABOUT YOUR FRIENDS. THIS IS A WARNING. WE HAVE STOPPED OTHERS. CAN I HAVE A STRAW FOR MY JELLO? - - I don’t recall him having said that… But, now that I think about, DANNY did just travel to Maine - the home of Bob "Golden Ears" Ludwig's "Gateway Mastering." Maybe he didn't go there just for the seasonal lobsters?..
Let's replace the asterisks with words:
“I think it was a few months ago that you and Danny Carey were on Rynne's radio show, Children of Saturn. Danny mentioned that there was a music VIDEO in the works for their song ***** and that that was the so called "CURVEBALL". Was that really it? Also, is that even true? If so, could you give some more information on it?”
Now the only 5 letter Tool song that makes sense to me is Jambi. So my current thinking is there is a completed video for Jambi out there that the band's lawyer just needs to finish negotiating terms of compensation for before it will get released. That should be the next major Tool news, but it was mastered over a year ago at this point so...

That should be the next major Tool news, but it was mastered over a year ago at this point so...

I remember the interview, and from memory I asked the question. I'm reasonably sure the song in question is Opiate, and that the "curveball" is a video that is being made for it apparently directed by Dominic Hailstone.
It was supposed to be out last year, but as happens with all Tool things has been delayed.
Oh, and apparently Opiate has been rerecorded for this exercise - the extended version played on recent tours. It's never been confirmed but most assume that's what Tool were doing in the studio a year or two back when Motorhead were next door.

So that King Buzzo quote nay be a lesson in viral messaging. Its like the biigest game of Telephone ever. It must be kind of fun to plant something like that and watch the whole world get whipped into a frenzy.
