Sure would have been nice to have a little black velco to seal the cd. The opening flap is kinda annoying. CD and artwork is amazing though.

The packaging reminds me of a trapper keeper. Some velcro would really make that so.

That might be hard to pull off considering it's a CD case. Digital devices don't flow too well with magnetic fields.

I thought the same thing, and concluded that they did not want to mar the cover artwork underneath by attaching some sort of fastening device. That's the best explanation I can manage for its omission.

You're thinking of analogue.
A magnet wouldn't do anything to the CD, since it's fundementally a sheet of foil with holes in it.

An optical disc does not use a mgnetic field. Plus, a normal refrigerator magnet isn't strong enough to to any damage to magnetic media.

Spell-check would have gone a long way.
Just kidding, I had the same thought about the velcro/annoying flap.

It could have had something to do with the cost. The case that it is so intricate already that it probably already cut their profit/unit way down

The noise musician Mark Spybey once put out a CD that was enclosed in a sewn canvas case. He explained by saying everyone who bought the CD would open the package in a different way, thereby making their own CD unique.
Maybe everyone can find their own, unique way of closing up the CD. Some might use a ribbon, a simple rubber band, or install little stick on magnets.
But no velcro please. You would sound like a spazz everytime you opened it. Ride the shortbus much?

oh ur rite!! I wouldn't want anyone to see that. I might be in the middle of the mall/flea market someday and have to open up 10,000 for everyone to see. I guess if that does happen atleast I'll be able to stare through the goggles like a bad ass to gather any form of redemption.

I got that Toology Unauthorized Biography DVD from Suncoast a long time ago for $8.99 and when I got 10,000 Days yesterday and then when I got home, I switched the discs and put 10k in the Toology case and Toology in 10k Days since I never watch it after seeing it once. There's no way i'm going to keep the 10k CD in the case all the time when it's so tedious to remove and you could rip the cardboard.

you could always go buy a roll of sticky-backed velcro and cut a small square of it to fit the album.

First thing I did when I got home was rip a copy to my archive. I only really listen to MP3s anymore. I enjoyed the book for a while, then put the case and CD on the rack with the rest of my collection. If I need a hard copy, I will burn it. No sense in damaging the original.
Ohh, and the Toology DVD was a piece of crap. My wife bought me that instead of the Schism and Parabola DVDs for xmas. Needless to say, I bought them anyway.

You can buy different sized velcro strips at Lowes or Home Depot. If it bothers you that much go pick some up and do it yourself.

I was about to say this , but i see that youve beat me to it. Surely, its an easy do it yourself project. Some drug stores even sell small velcro strips you can utilize. Good idea, but nothing to not make happen for yourself.
