Welp, we don't have a sitter for my daughter. Both my wife and I want to go...my daughter is at a real wild stage and probably wouldn't sit still if We tried to take her with. We live in a new town and I don't know anyone well enough to ask to sit.

I don't want to be a dick and ask if I can go by myself.

I'm just going to have to wait until next time around in a year or 2 from now.

So we Came up with 4 on the floor right in front of the sound booth @ Tacoma Dome. I SO hope We get that NZ treatment. All I’ve seen of Descending was the 5 minute “trailer” they pulled out at The Gorge. I was REALLY hoping for it in Glendale or EITHER night in Denver, but we got skipped. MF’rs!

I share your Descending pain. Seen it once in the 5 times I have seen the FI tour so far. Makes no damn sense.

Scored my Chase Center ticket tonight. FI 2x more times - oh ya!

They did the same short version of Descending in Lincoln last year.

I remember as far back as SanDiego 2014 they were playing a couple minutes of the swelling guitar chords and chugged out some rhythm. I remember they had a grandiose pyramid set when they ran it at the Gorge and I’ve been dying to see the full shebang. As much as 7empest. Looks like I’m doing Portland as Well as Tacoma since a friend has an extra and needs a ride... so maybe

Not that I remember for any of the shows I saw. I remember San Diego ‘14 was the first time I picked up on the Descending-esque segue they threw out there. When they finished I said to my wife “that was some of the new stuff. That was awesome!” Every tour since then it was developing into more. I think it was 2016 or 17 when they listed it on the setlist as A/Descending (which I also think is a crumb leading to an overall album concept).

As far as anything else being used live before the album- maybe just CCtrip.

So as I'm sure everyone's thought about it...do you think the COVID-19 outbreak will affect the tour going forward?

I haven’t had my TV on in a few weeks, But I couldn’t imagine what it would take to stop a money machine like a Tool tour. Is it really getting that bad?

There’s starting to be more cancellations of events it seems like, and Washington State is in the heart of it. I just saw that a College Basketball team is cancelling all their remaining games for the year, and other events are either cancelling the event all together or not allowing any audience.

Large events where people are in very close proximity is really the only way it can spread and grow into a true pandemic. I was told by a virologist in the family that 2 feet apart is 90% probability of being passed but it drops to almost zero at 5 feet. An infected person coughing into their hands and immediately touching a door knob would be another possibility.

My company recently cancelled our annual tech conference. Most of the other major players have as well. I can still travel for work but have a feeling we are about to be grounded.

SXSW announced it will move forward as planned. But at this point I am starting to think festivals like Coachella may get cancelled.

How does it all affect Tool? Hard to say. The next week or two will be interesting and an indicator of what is coming.

They were selling them at the box office here. We ended up with floor row T, so something like 20 rows back, which is the sweet spot for me.

They give us a receipt and you bring that to will call day of the show and they give us the tickets.

My friend scored us pretty good seats for Minnesota. And i am heavily debating going to toledo, as there are may seats left and its a 3 hour drive. I could make it there and back in one day and not miss any work lol.

Honestly, you're probably right. I was pretty inebriated. I already told my wife that when we got to the show in Souix Falls I might have one or two beers, but not as much as last concert. Spent way too much time running to the pisser!

And I’m not sure if the healthcare system in New Zealand, but here in the US it sounds like a lot of Doctors are getting the run around from the CDC on getting people tested. And it sounds like you don’t get really sick until 5-14 days. I can’t fault the dude for thinking he probably just had the crud and was probably just as surprised when he tested positive for COVID-19

Yea I'd be curious too. All the news outlets seem to be pumping out fear here in the US.
