I'm not sure how I missed this on Youtube, BUT HOLY FUCKING HELL!
This rivals JC Dobbs and Pamona for best 90s Tool bootleg.
I'm stunned.

I’m sure the logistics of trying to schedule anything in the Fall given the current situation is a nightmare. Hope I catch them next year!

Bummed about the outright cancellation but it is a good call. I appreciated the statement. We'll all be back. At some point.

Man this sucks for artists. I know it's all economics, but now LN is going to make artists bend at the knee like we've been doing with crazy fees.
I wonder what Tool will think of this concession being forced by LN under the terms in the memo?
Streaming requirements: All artists will be required to allow their performance to be filmed by the festival for use in a live television broadcast, a live webcast, on-demand streaming, and/or live satellite radio broadcast.

Someone, it may have been Gary Holt or Scott Ian, mentioned that Pearl Jam tried doing a tour without LN and it was basically impossible. Live Nation owns or is a major stakeholder in 76 clubs and venues around the US. I don't know if it will affect Tool so much as it will affect the smaller to mid-sized bands that aren't a headliner. I'd bet though the guys in Tool aren't happy about it, much like every other artist.

So crazy that we waited over a decade for new Tool and the tour with the new material gets cut short.
I wonder how enthused they will be to play FI songs in 2021

I hope that they've worked on possibly new material, but seems like Maynard is focusing on Puscifer. I don't know the schedule of an artist, so I guess it's not to say that they couldn't.

Yea you’d have to figure the insurance for touring is going to be nuts. Probably not worth the headache for bands to even try until late next year

I've heard this doom and gloom but if they get a vaccine going and we can get this recent spike under control, I bet we have shows late next summer. ( But the world is going to be a very different place by then.)

There is reason to hope. I'm not a virologist or anything like that, but having several vaccines in the end stages of testing showing they can boost immune systems to combat the virus sounds really good, but I know things can also change during the process.
What somewhat worries me is it seems the people who want to "go back to normal" aren't taking any sort of precautions such as masks or social distancing, and I feel if/when the vaccine is available that we will have the same fight ahead of us on the social front.

Yo, Hellboy... you still listening to Death Atlas by Cattle Decapitation? I ripped that album open last year, and wore it out. I Saw them play with A&P late last December and I got VERY sick after that concert (I’m the type that doesn’t usually get colds/flu/sick). I was down for weeks into the new year and I was worried I’d miss Tool in Glendale. Then all this Covid started happening. When I first heard the symptoms it was a list of garbage I had been dealing with in December/January. Coughing fits, respritory congestion, shortness of breath, waking up chest burning like I had been running miles... I couldn’t dab or smoke weed (daily habit/“medical”) and wound up eating it for a while. It was rough. I didn’t go to the hospital because, even with my insurance, that shit is expensive and I just tough it out with YouTube Sprite and indica When I feel shitty... so that’s what I did. I don’t even really know HOW to go to the hospital. I’d honestly have to ask my wife what to do. So, clearly I’m wondering if I might have contracted Covid from the CattleD show in Seattle late last December.
I guess I started by addressing Hellboy because he pointed them out to me... but the post took a turn to the group. Anyone else see the fall/winter Cattle Decapitation tour?

Great album, one of my favorites from last year. Cattle Decap played the same week here as Tool, and since I was on the road following Tool around, didn't get to see them. My buddy who I sold the ticket to said it was a great show though!

It was an incredible show. The best club sized show I’ve seen since LoG did The Rialto in Tucson circa 2004/5 with Opeth & CKY.
I just learned that if you donate plasma/blood right now, they will run an antibody test and give you the results. My appointment is next Thursday. I’ve never given blood before, but I’m pretty interested in that test.

yea, but have they ever mass produced alongside the trials before like we have here and have so many resources ever been pooled to find a vaccine?

So now The whole western half of the USA is either burning, has burned, or ready to go. AZ saw record fires, California, Washington, and Colorado are seeing huge fires. Makes me think of Australia in February. It’s almost like they are one season ahead of us or something. Weird.

Wonder if the snow and rain helped CO yesterday. My buddy in Highlands Ranch said it was 98 on Monday and then snowed yesterday

Yeah. I have a lot of friends in Ft Collins and they have some cool time lapse video of red smokey sunsets and 6” snow 12 hours later. Apparently it has helped contain fires and dampen unburned areas, but wasn’t wet enough to put things out. I bet the guys camped out there fighting the fires were happy to get a breath of cold air, though.

I just drove 1500 miles up and down California and to say its depressing would be a major understatement.
On another note: New Puscifer!
I dig the artwork. Hopefully we can an Alien Abduction themed tour in 2021

Money is getting a little tight, so I’m having to downsize my TOOL collection.
I’ve got a couple Peter Westerman signed and numbered TOOL Lateralus era Prints for sale on Craigslist. Check him out his art is on par or better than Alex Grey.
One is a giant 3 piece signed and numbered print (total size 6’ x 6’) of the super rare ‘Eye of God’ Print, not the poster which is still available.
Anyway, here’s a link to both. I can work out shipping anywhere in the US with you.
