It's nice that it's twice as expensive as any other show they play.

Fuckin bullshit. I don't care where it's at, should be the same price for the exact same show.

Re: 2007/03/15-16 - Las Vegas, NV - The Pearl

^^^ Doesn't matter what band/comedian is playing in Vegas, the cost of tickets is almost double than any other place they play. Had a chance to see Chris Rock in Portland a couple years back for $30 bucks, 4 months later he was playing Vegas and the face value on the tickets were $150.. Needless to say Chris didn't get my money but I will be shelling out the cash for these two shows.....

I am gonna try like hell to get a ticket off the regular sale for this. But I think we may be screwed there. Not sure if I am gonna pony up broker prices for this show.

Either way, if you guys are up for meeting somewhere for drinks before the show, let's do it!

Re: 2007/03/15-16 - Las Vegas, NV - The Pearl

Why is everyone thinking they won't get tickets from TM? Again I ask, what was the capacity at Theatre Under The Stars at Hard Rock, around 3,000 or was it more? Cuz those tickets were on sale for a few days if not more. And this theatre holds 2,500. Granted, you'll want to try to get them immediately, but I'm just thinking it's not gonna be 2 seconds like the mini-tour tickets.

That SD show at Cox arena sold out in around 10 minutes.

I hope you're right, but past experience at similar sized venues (like the mini-tour) doesn't bode well. Me and 3 others all put in a full-court press for Philly tickets right when they went on sale and got shut out. But, we all did score tickets for one of the two NYC shows, so maybe with Vegas being a two-nighter we'll all have more luck.

Re: 2007/03/15-16 - Las Vegas, NV - The Pearl

This show is over double the capacity of the mini-tours. And if the SD show (1 show) sold out in ten minutes, that's ten minutes to get your tickets. If you can't get them in ten minutes, you're hopeless. It should take you two at most. I've got my credit card info saved, I will log in just before trying for tickets, and will be using 2 browsers, the phone (calling out of state) and my buddy in IL will be doing the same. There is another ticket scandal if you can't get tickets while going through all that.

So is everybody getting Thursday tickets then? Or trying to, at least?

Thursday is the plan here. I am going to try for both nights, but go for Thursday first.

BTW, you say it should be easy to get tickets in the 10 minutes tickets will be available but I was never able to bring up floor seats for that SD show which was all I was interested in. And that was just searching for 1 seat starting the moment tickets went on sale. For these LV shows I am just going with 'Best Available' and settle for whatever comes up.

Re: 2007/03/15-16 - Las Vegas, NV - The Pearl

I'm going to select the cheapies to start with and see where I get. For the last time they played here, I wasn't finding shit for tickets until about 30 minutes AFTER they went onsale, they started popping up. But the phonecall found tickets on the first try, just call out of state.

Personally I'm trying for Friday since lots of people are thinking Thursday will be easier to get, they may sell out just as fast.

When you say 'just call out of state' I'm not sure I get ya. Isn't there just a local number to call for Ticketbastard?

Now that you mention it, that might not be a bad idea to try. It's been so long since I bothered to call them. Maybe that's at least the back-up plan. Dial in while I am trying to buy online!

And I hear ya on the Friday thing. Lotsa people going for both so it probably won't matter.

Pretty much every city has a different ticketmaster number so pick some random place, not Las Vegas, and hope for the best.

Does that really work? The local TM up here can barely help me with a local event, their head would probably explode when I tell them I want tickets to a Tool concert in Las Vegas....

Re: 2007/03/15-16 - Las Vegas, NV - The Pearl

I called the Vegas one when the last tour came through, and got nothing but a busy signal, and when I got in there was nothing. So I figured nobody in IL would be calling about tickets to an event in Vegas, so I called IL. I got through, got tickets, and was done in like 2 minutes. Most tickets go on sale at 10am or noon, so if you call a state out of your time zone, and call much later than any tickets would be going on sale in that area, you're in. In this case, Noon here would be 2pm in the midwest, and no tickets go on sale at 2pm.

I'm almost willing to bet I get tickets that way, and get shafted on the website.

It's good advice, and maybe even a little bit obvious. I have encountered the busy signal before trying to call in and that's why I abandoned it for online a long time ago. But after the serious pwning I got from online during last week's SD sale, I think I will give the phone a try. Illinois, you say? Hmm.

the presale tix(toolarmy) were $50 per and my guess is they'll be the reserved seats. for the regular ticketmaster sales the lower priced ones should be GA and the higher priced reserved seats.

^You have no idea what you're talking about. The HIGHEST price tickets are ALWAYS GA tickets. Every...single...concert I've been to, the highest price tickets are GA, and the lowest are usually in the higher levels of the seats.

Highest are not usually GA. GA matches the first seated section usually, and I've seen where seated areas are more expensive. Just all depends.

^Dude, you just contradicted yourself.

1. GA matches the first seated section (I agree).

2. Seated areas are more expensive (I agree).

CONCLUSION:

GA matches the first seated section, which is usually the most expensive, and thus the GA is usually the most expensive.

I GUESS you could make the case that fancy box/VIP seats are more expensive, but I wouldn't call those regular tickets that the general public is interested in.
