I agree with Sanzen. Its like MJK is handing the lawyer the mirror and asking him the rhetorical question, 'Liar, Lawyer, Whats the Difference man?'

It's tough going through lyric threads for this song. People are retarded. Basically making up words, and swearing that is what's being said. (ex. "...You must've been out your hair..." No joke. People really think it's hair. Unreal....Anyways...

Second time "Mirror, foil..."

I thought it was "for you" at first but I just went back and listened to it now after reading this thread. It sounds a lot more like 'foil'.

This is a random thought here but Lawyer is compared to Liar so why cant Mirror be compared to foil, i havnt listened for what is actualy said but mirror foil sort of makes sense, foil is a reflective surface..... dont flame :(

I just went and listened to the live from Cochella version...but he messed up and actually said "...show me." both times.

You can think its random or anything you like, but if you listen to the song, it has real, written lyrics that don't just change because you think it sounds good that way.

Foil is another way to consume narcotics based on cocaine or heroine. Chase the Dragon?.... It can be done with both drugs, either sniffed or smoked off of foil. It's almost like a basic philosophy model analogy saying that a liar is a liar and a drug is a drug. ... er whatever...

He definitely is saying "for ya". Period. There is a "ya" in there, and there is no "ya" in foil. Nor is there an "r" in foil, and there's definitely an r in there. Listen carefully. And I was at Coachella, singing along, and he did say "show me" both times, but I'm sure it was no mistake, just a choice he made. He does what he wants.

Alrighty... It makes sense to me, but I'll buy "for ya". I listen to that bit over and over and over (with the recorded version...) and I can hear it both ways. "For ya" fits the structure of the song better, since the first time is definately "show me".

But I really hope you all stop rolling your eyes... It was a good idea.

Also, for the record, I really don't think this song is about drugs at all... Other than the "Musta' been high" line, everything can (and probably does, I think) mean something else...

Foil can also mean something that provides a contrast to another thing, and is also used, sometimes, to mean enemy.

I have to disagree with Maynard, to some extent, as to his broad generalization about lawyers. I mean the jokes are funny. A few bad apples can spoil the barrel, but I know that most lawyers truly are honest. I know some really well. *clears throat* Don't get me wrong, there are some serious scumbags out there, but they are usually the ones who you hear about, and from, and that's why lawyers get that reputation.

Im still for "Show Me" & "For Ya". They flow together, as in using the same idea in two different verses but using different words to express it.

Anyways, I don't think it's "Mirror foil" (pronounced Mirror foi-yul) because there's an "r" sound at the end of the first syllable and the second syllable is definitely an "a" sound.

I love the "Voyeur" suggestion though. And on the surface level it fits in a hell of a lot better than "for ya." Maybe like the analogy is [Object used in the profession] (Profession)

And I use "profession" for lack of a better word. Like, a voyeur uses a mirror, and a lawyer uses lies...?

The difference between mirrors and voyeurs though, is in a mirror, you're only looking at yourself, as a voyeur, you're looking at everyone else.

Not everyone who is a liar is a lawyer, but all lawyers are liars. This could be said that just because you look at yourself, you're not necessarilly a voyeur, but being a voyeur, you're looking at everyone including yourself.
