I've heard his voice crack and go off pitch live too, I know that his voice isn't just layed and fix up live. The only effects they do use they do so diliberately and you can easily tell.

Oh, and while I've actually got someone listening to me - I put a link to my 'mjk' song in the 'creative' forum - it's only on myspace I'm afraid, but I'd love to hear what Tool fans think of it.

I think the best renditions so far are tyrith's and neognosis'. You guys have really good voices.
When I find time I'll record my own. I took 5 years of singing lessons back when I was a student, so be afraid... be very afraid...
