I can't get my microphone to work, but that's probably for the best. If I could, I'd likely spend a half an hour recording over and over again trying to get something presentable and failing each time before eventually giving up.

Well, I don't think I could do it a capella, or at least, not in a good way...
I think this is one of the things in the album that surprised me the most... When this song began, I heard this beautiful singing, and I said to myself: " damn, is it maynard singing?", turns out it was...
I only listened to the album a couple of times, lying in the dark with earphones, but this is one of the songs I liked the most, although this is not saying much, as there is so much to hear and discover in a Tool album...

Great tune anyway...

sorry to inform you but James Blunt has a much higher vocal spam than maynard , he can reach notes that maynard can only dream about...but maynard has a stronger voice and he knows his limitations and his sings according to them...not very high,not very low,but the middle...

When referring to vocals, its vibrato, not tremolo. Tremolo is more commonly used on modern string instruments.

my scanner isn't working, so here's the gist. Both tremolo and vibrato mean different things depending on the instrument. Tremolo was once used to refer to a rapid repetition of a pitch by a singer, but this technique has fallen into disuse and therefore so has the meaning. Now, tremolo is used to refer to excessive and unpleasant vibrato from a singer.


So. I was wrong in my over-simplified definitions of the terms, and you were wrong in saying that tremolo is not applicable to voice. Truce, and end this musical pissing contests?
