Sorry for the delayed response, but heres my attempt.
http://freewebs.com/numna/the pot.wav
I don't have much faith in myself in any other ways, but I have been told that I can sing fairly well.
Edit: of course leave it to HTML to mess the link.

I haven't listened (being at work), but if he lacks confidence (faith) that could be the key to the missing projection.
Belt it to the back row mate, and to hell what anyone thinks :)

I can't get my microphone to work, but that's probably for the best. If I could, I'd likely spend a half an hour recording over and over again trying to get something presentable and failing each time before eventually giving up.

Well, I don't think I could do it a capella, or at least, not in a good way...
I think this is one of the things in the album that surprised me the most... When this song began, I heard this beautiful singing, and I said to myself: " damn, is it maynard singing?", turns out it was...
I only listened to the album a couple of times, lying in the dark with earphones, but this is one of the songs I liked the most, although this is not saying much, as there is so much to hear and discover in a Tool album...
Great tune anyway...
PS: If my english is a bit lame, you have my excuse, but as English is not my mother language, I'm trying to do my best, but....

Completely OT, I know, but is anyone else continually floored by the people who apologise for their English as it's not their first language and yet still manage to compose a more fluent sentence than people for whom English is their first language?

sorry to inform you but James Blunt has a much higher vocal spam than maynard , he can reach notes that maynard can only dream about...but maynard has a stronger voice and he knows his limitations and his sings according to them...not very high, not very low,but the middle...

Coheed and Cambria my friend. I sing along with Claudio Sanchez. Have fun trying that. For those of you who dont listen to coheed (I know I'll prolly recieve a lot of hate mail just for posting this but hey, I like my Coheed), he's got the voice of Geddy Lee and the dude from The Darkness.

Stay until wednesday, and write me a child like letter pretending.
I did Delirium trigger for a battle of the bands once, i didn't speak for a week before hand so my voice would be in top form.

This statement proves that you do NOT know what you are talking about.
When referring to vocals, its vibrato, not tremolo. Tremolo is more commonly used on modern string instruments.
He did a fine job on his rendition... The goal isnt necessarily to "sound like Maynard", you know...
And don't bother arguing, because I'm a Vocal Music Major, and I do know my stuff.

rofl? Way to pull out the "I'm a music student so you lose" card.
Vibrato is commonly used to mean modulation of pitch or timbre.
Tremolo is used to mean volume.
Both are applicable to voice

When referring to vocals, its vibrato, not tremolo. Tremolo is more commonly used on modern string instruments.
He did a fine job on his rendition... The goal isnt necessarily to "sound like Maynard", you know...
And don't bother arguing, because I'm a Vocal Music Major, and I do know my stuff.

What?
You're totally wrong.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tremolo
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vibrato
They are the same things they just pertain to different instruments.
Dont fuck with me.

Oh. I thought I have heard tremolo used in reference to vocals. Weird. I certainly will not argue with a Vocal Music major though, goddamn you must posess infinite knowledge.
I will not bother arguing!
Hopefully you are right and weren't "sick" the day they taught that in class. (And by sick I mean formulating novel-length fake album theories.)

You may have heard the reference, but it was used improperly.

No, tremolo can be applied to vocals. Do you want me to scan and paste the page from the Harvard Dictionary of Music? Its a bit more reliable than wikipedia and i have it open right now and i'm looking at it.

To tell the truth, we're both wrong.
edit:
my scanner isn't working, so here's the gist. Both tremolo and vibrato mean different things depending on the instrument. Tremolo was once used to refer to a rapid repetition of a pitch by a singer, but this technique has fallen into disuse and therefore so has the meaning. Now, tremolo is used to refer to excessive and unpleasant vibrato from a singer.
So. I was wrong in my over-simplified definitions of the terms, and you were wrong in saying that tremolo is not applicable to voice. Truce, and end this musical pissing contests?
-- Funnily enough, the way it was originally used most closely mirrors its proper usage.
