Ok, so in preparation for a friend of mine possibly bailing out on me due to work, I may have an extra ticket for the 19th. I am not asking for monetary compensation but it would be nice if you could be my ride as I would have to bus it otherwise and possibly buy me a drink if you are 21+ but neither is required though it would be nice. Since I am giving it away I should be allowed to be at least a lil picky as to who I go with so here are my preferences (and please do not be offended):
Female Tool Fan
Taper
Guitar Player
Jesus
The Dalai Llama
in that order, but if you can mix and match any of those you get further up the list.
Just checked in to my hotel. What the hell to do until show time?
I guess I'll go to the bar and get shit faced so that everyone will notice me as I interupt their experience with my antics.

What bar? Anyone sees a guy there by himself with a Toolarmy shirt and plaid shorts...that's me...say hello.

I'm running on 2.5 hours of sleep. Seriously, so excited to be in LA (for the first time), knowing I'm seeing Tool again. Yes, I know the set list will be the same as usual for tonight, but I can't help fantasizing about hearing PUSHIT!
Off to Ross to buy shoes that I forgot to pack. Do you know how retarded I felt going to the show last night in sandals?!

ok so no ideas on where to meet up? as I recall there's a place to get a drink after you enter the venue and go up a big escalator to the right.
maybe there, after the opening band? I'll be roughly there, w my very blonde gf, so see you there maybe?
also anyone who has an extra ticket, I have a friend who could use one, willing to pay for it. email me (not Pm) at [email protected] if you want. I'll be on airplanes all day getting back to la but have a layover in Chicago so can check email then.

Anyone have 2 extra tickets for tonight? I'd prefer the cheapest tickets I can find =) By the grace of all higher powers, if you truly can't use them, can't sell them and would wind up giving them away outside the door, please PM me...I'm desperate to go to the show tonight, but broke as hell after last night. Last night just wasn't enough. If they play Intolerance and The Patient, I'm going to be devastated should I not be able to go =( Call me at 661-476-0499 if you can help me!

Ænema was off the charts good. The whole damn show was incredible! Tonight's gettin close! I'll see if I can find that bar at top of escalator. Head's still a bit wonky after yesterday's debauchery but I'll get in a nap and be good to go. (sux bein old)
If anyone wants to meet up for a drink before hand and talk tool, shoot me an email at jdpoaps @ gmail .com (note the spaces, spam protection). I am visiting here from Toronto on business, so I'm heading to the show alone. it'll be my 9th time seeing tool, and didnt want to miss this one. Even if it meant going alone.
I'll have my blackberry on me, so shoot me an email if youre game.
NO problems in that area. watch out for dancing bitches that like to knock beer out of your hands, though. =(
Hey, everyone's just having a good time, though with the prices of the alcohol there, I'd be irritated with that too.
I thought the security there would be a little tougher, so I left my stash in the car, but there were plenty of people around sparking up, so I wish I had brought mine.
i'll be there tonight in mezz, row a also!
my 17th or so Tool show but my nephews 1st.
he should be blown away.
not sure how the view is up there.
i've only had way close orchestra seats for Tool there a few years ago and also had loge there for QOTSA once.
i had to bail on the S. Diego show as I had work shit i couldn't escape.
so i am ready for this for sure!
View from the mezz is great. I had row A tix too that I gave away already but, will still be there in orch tonight row x. The good thing about Nokia mezz is not only a great view but you get great lazer effects up there as they shoot above and below your line of sight...
For those who were at the show last night, how easy was it to spark up a jammer or 2 once the show started?
was funny last night as soon as the lights went down I saw no less than 5 people spark up right around me(including myself). I think thats the best time to light up as there were still people heading in and security/ushers are somewhat busy.
There was a point during the show where some people on our aisle lit up and an usher-lookin lady came rambling down the aisle and pretty much just scolded them and left...so keep an eye out if it's later in the show.
How nuts were they about cameras? Would I be able to bring in a small point and shoot or is that a no no?
I personally didn't see any of this but, apparently cameras were getting confiscated left and right. I had to 'check' my chain and when I went down to get it afterward there was a line of about 100 waiting to get their cameras back...
that being said, not enough were confiscated! Cameras kept popping up in my line of sight...

Were they being confiscated before getting in (i.e. security check/pat down) or as people used them, security spotted them?
Reason I ask, is i'd like to take photos outside of the venue, and not necessarily at the concert itself. I'm not from around here so wanted to take some shots of downtown.
GO TO THE BOTTOM LEVEL FOR DRINKS. There is rarely more than 1 or 2 people in line.
I got a warning last night for using the camera on my phone. meanwhile two rows in front of me this chick never stopped recording on her digital camera,
I was wearing my Lakers jersey last night too!...There were no pat downs, you will just walk inside the metal detector and put your metal items in a canister.
I saw a couple Laker jerseys...even a Vujacic! I also saw a dude wearing a shirt with your "California's finest" black mamba on it. Mine's just a $20 gold shirt with the jersey graphics...

No pat downs. Perfect. I just don't want to have to go back to my car and drop off the cam. Sitting at espn bar, can't wait.

Soooo jealous. Wish I would have bought tickets for the 19th too.. You guys got Intension, EBA, The Patient AND The Pot?!?! You lucky lucky bastards....
What's funny is that you all can't pick up and/or detect obvious sarcasm.
Truth is, after Third Eye I turned to my gf and told her that just that song with the visuals that accompanied it was well worth the price of admission alone.
But again, obvious sarcasm isn't picked up on by everyone so that must mean I'm "hatin'"

where was the sarcasm obvious? it may have been obvious to you, but to others, not so much.
glad to know you're not really hatin' though! i agree, third eye by itself was well worth the price of admission.
Yeah, we were up in the Mezz and the visuals for 3rd Eye (and the whole show) were freaking retarded awesome. I think even better than if you were at eye-level with the stage.

I think anyone that wasn't in my section, and over 5 foot had a great view, lol. I was in the far left Orchestra section 12 rows back and didn't have much of a view at all. Mostly because I'm short and was surrounded by very tall people. Oh well, though.. The sound was amazing and what I could see blew my mind away. I now know what seats to try to get next time. It was my first time at the Nokia, so I wasn't sure what to expect from my seats or the sound. I would normally never leave to get a drink during the set, but I wanted to see what the view looked like between the orchestra and loge and oh man... I didn't even want to go back to my seat.
