I know I'm not Nikola, so I don't know what the haps are. Either way, I'm blaming him.
By the way, I was RevSnakeworm. Don't remember getting probed, tbh, but I probably did do something. I can also prove I was the Rev by providing the full-sized version of the avatar, which is sitting happily on my photobucket account and also on my hard drive somewhere. Still have no idea what email I used for that account, nor do I care cos it's old and I don't use that name anymore.
You do realize some prick (--who got banned for being a douche and is probably one of the main reasons for the no aliasing rule and why new members can't get access to Interact--) really focked shit up yesterday morning, pretty much right after server maintenance, right? Dunno what dan did to get rid of him, but I think you should probably be giving the man a hand for it instead of getting snippy. This lack of Interact is a minor inconvenience to the three of us who actually poast, and a precautionary measure on dan's behalf, or so I suspect, so chill. If it matters to you, be patient.
I waited a month already, and if it takes a month again, well. If there were no reward to reap, no eventual bin to see me through this tedious lack of poast out here I certainly would have walked away by now, and I am...
gonna wait it out.

Reason: fixing it over and over...
Lol, and how was I supposed to know all that? I waited 3 months before I got access, I'm still a newb and therefore I don't get any explanation at all as to why I can't see half the forum? Not one mod could tell me anything?
You obviously got told more than I, guess that's cos you've been a member before and that warrants you to more info.
No, I got no answers from mods, and I didn't want to give dan hell, either, since he's the captain of this ship. One message, asking, one response back to him. Mostly because I didn't ask. I deduced this from my own previous experiences doing similar (but FAR less grueling) work as dan does here, and a similar attack, too. I pay attention. And I've got a few regulars who talk to me, on my own merits and not because I was here before. It has nothing to do with my only-sorta-n00b status. In fact, I've probably gotten more shit than I would have otherwise.
TBH, if you waited three months, then that's lots worse than me. I was just lucky I guess, to get in when I did.
But these things happen, and I honestly think that dan can do what he wants. He's kept this place up and running for beyond the six year mark. It's his site, it's his time, and it ain't a democracy.
I like it.
The mystery. Not knowing. The guessing.
I like losing.
Losing opens up far more pathways than winning.
Detours, traffic jams, missed flights...locked doors.
The spice of life is finding the keys.
Merry Christmas to all of us here.

I find it vaguely difficult to communicate properly with you. I think you read a bit too much into my poaste.
Hey.
We're still allowed in Albums, right.
So, with great stealth, and clandestine movements, why can't we just talk over there.
Art is life, and life is art.
Everything is wrapped up in music.
This mornng, olive/cheese/tomato melts on a pita. I like cooking whilst listening to Tool.

I am reading Rant by Chuck Palahnuik, and I thought this was appropo:
Echo Lawrence: "The big reason why folks leave a small town," Rant used to say,
"is so they can moon over the idea of going back. And the reason they stay put is so they can moon about getting out."
Rant meant that no one is happy, anywhere.
Eh? When I was in Albums I wanted more. As soon as I got more, I wanted my innocence back. I'm never satisfied, but for maybe a couple magical moments everyday.

Also.
Regarding the neighborhood inside a neighborhood inside a neighborhood, as in everything is a fix to a fix to a fix--that life is 3-D and full of wonder, I read this:
From the Field Notes of Green Taylor Simms: The last rat-borne epidemic of bacterium Yersinia pestis occurred in Los Angeles in the years 1924 and 1925. It was traced to the widespread practice of destroying prairie-dog colonies by introducing animals infected with the plague. By the 1930's, 98 percent of the native marmot population was destroyed, but the remaining 2 percent remain asymptomatic carriers of the bubonic plague.
It takes time to locate and weed out the viruses.
And the results are pending...
I'm at work, it sucks even more tonight because I have 10 days off in 3 days and my customers seem to be getting worse.
Sigh.
Merry christmas to you too though. =)
What sucks is the customer is always right, even when they're dipshits.
But hang in there. There is a light.
Sigh. I was feeling passed over, too. It felt like I was back in high school gym class, all over again.
Ackk! It will make me stronger if I try a little harder. Then the reward should be sweeter.
Keep on working.
Peace.

Some of those threads in the trap are good. We ruled there a while. It was nice, and fulfilling in an internets kind of way. Yeah, something about innocence. Somewhere in the excitement I started to slack off in my poaste. Didn't have a chance to regulate.

Exactly.
With me, it's the hooks of everyday maintenance.
Walking the line between civilized and wild, and losing myself in new things.
Regulation is a moving target.
Nice chatting today.

It's easy to forget yourself. It's easy to fly off the handle and lose what you're trying to do and be. They've shut down the university's alternative station here in town, and I got so mad that I called up the head of the Student Media department, and I was going to be civil and express how sad I was for losing one of the bright spots. And I got so flustered that all I said was "Thanks for ruining the best thing in this town, you cock," and hung up.
Regulation. Keeping things from spinning wildly out of your control, a struggle sometimes. It happens, though.

You aren't very good at being clandestine if you are telling your plans in a section designed for interaction between the people that work on the site and the people that use it.

"If you break the rules, Mods will give you a warning. For continued / deliberate violations, mods will put you on probation (you will be unable to post for a week), and will ban you permanently for repeat / flagrant offenses."
I did not receive any warning, and so far I have not received any information for probation.
For what i have read, there seems to be some "attacking" the site. So you take the server-side problem and make it as everyone's issue. And from perspective ( kind of example ), the wiki was messed up by some person ( denial of service ), but as result you kick out group of new people instead (even bigger denial of service ).
The ( assumed ) situation is questionable. So this is direct feedback for people running this service, re-think the methods and long time solutions how to deal with the problem ( and does the current method really solve anything). And yeah, I know "you can do whatever you want", but any moderator should pay attention to their own written rules.
I know it is Christmas and almost new year, and there are more important things than this and overall it has been very busy times. Not like I am suing anyone, but would open discussion or statement be any help for whatever happened ?
I just think, as a user of this service, it would be nice to know what I am involved in. Thanks.

You are not probed. If you were you would not have been able to make this post.
That rule is archaic.
Things wrong with it:
1. Mods can't probe or ban
2. You can't really permanently ban someone if they know their way around the internet.
3. Probings don't always last only for a week.

Attacks happen all the time on forums. The wiki was messed up by a few people and it got to be such a hassle, dan closed it. I am of the opinion that dan should give access to it to people that have shown stability.
Denial of service sounds like you are trying to buy something and have been refused. You haven't and you weren't.

There's that service word again. We don't work for you, nor did you pay anything to be on this site.
I do agree that the rules are archaic and should be simplified.

Indeed it is. Merry Christmas and happy new year to you.
I've been so busy, I didn't even realize that dan changed his mind on interact.
