I forgot to ask about the sticker. The guy at the cash register didn't seem to know what he was doing anyway. He'd probably end up giving me a Hawthorne Heights sticker or something.

Hot Topic is a contrived identification with youth subcultures to manufacture an anti-authoritarian identity and make millions. The $8 you paid for the Mudvayne poster would be better spent used to see your brother’s friend’s band.

DIY ethics are punk rock
Starting your own label is punk rock
G.G. Allin was punk rock.

But when a crass corporate vulture feeds on mass-consumer culture, mis-spending mommy’s money is not punk rock!

True, but Hot Topic is the only place that sells band t-shirts in a surprisingly large number of places throughout the country. If you happen to live in Podunk, Anystate they probably won't have a cool band-shirt store, and the closest thing will be at the mall in the closest real city... and that means getting your T-shirt from Hot Topic, or Spencer's. It's still corporate blahbiddy blah, but I don't really give a shit. As if selling an image hasn't been a part of rock music since the day it was created.... please.
