I'm in the same boat. Hell, I need a second ticket now, but not much I can do..and even so, it wouldn't be for the seat next to me. But I've very happy about my one still.:)
I feel extraordinarily lucky today. I scored tix to 3 different shows. I SHOULD have an extra ticket for the Detroit, KC, and Oakland shows. I have yet to receive the tix for the latter two (damn 72 hour delay), but once I have them I'll be looking to sell. I'm not a scalper, otherwise I'd be posting on Ebay instead of here. I'm just a fellow Tool fanatic who shares your disdain for scalpers. There's still hope for at least 3 of you. I'll keep you posted.

Ok, I just talked to City Tix. They have not been told to tell people that they are sold out, only that there are no available at this time. That means if people who have reserved don't follow thru there's still hope. The girl I spoke with said that the she's only seen it this bad for Alicia Keys, Ray Charles and Melissa Ethridge. She also said that they had no idea how many Tool fans there were and the thought of the servers not being able to handle us was not even an issue.
Also, the reason why they don't go through Ticketmaster is that they have their own service (although clearly not able to handle large volume) and they never charge hanling fees, tax, etc.
If you ask me, the $5.00 handling fee is well worth the time and anxiety we all went through today.

yes i let a band control my life, and then when i dont get tickets i bitch and moan. thats me. or hell, i could see them whenever they come through around my parts again, you know in the fall maybe or even a bit later on. theres other music out there to split your dick until tool comes through.

my wife called a ticketbroker to "vent" her frustration after our valiant efforts to get tickets only to find them on ebay for 500% markups. they said
"we are the doctors of the music world. when you get sick you goto a doctor, when you need tickets you come to us"

they had 2 single tickets available for chicago when we were on the line...should have picked them up and tried to trade for a pair somewhere else...hindsight is 20/20 i guess....
Paid $245 a piece for 2 floor tix to the Boston show. Once in a lifetime opportunity to see Tool in such a small venue. Would have preferred the $66.66 face value price though :(

but you could do worse. I've seen ticket brokers charging a lot more than that for floor tix to these shows, depending on location. And you know, these venues are all small enough that it doesn't make THAT big a difference where you're at.
