That's a disappointment, thought they would be #1.

I wouldn't have expected Tool at #1 in the U.K. That's where Pop Idol/American Idol was born.
Don't get me wrong, I love the U.K. I wanna move there some day. But come on, their music scene has even worse ADD than the U.S. music scene.
I think #4 is pretty good for Tool in that country.

Im looking forward to the album chart rundown On Top Of The Pops with that blonde bimbo (whats her name?) who pretends to be a rock chick but fails miserably.I can just see it now "And in at number 4.....Tool, theyre wicked!".And ill bet shes never heard of them.
Still its great to see Tool crack the top five.Lateralus only got to No 16.

I agree, number 4 is pretty impressive for the UK. It would have been miraculous for Tool to make number 1. I would have expected top 20, not top 5. And yes, the UK music scene is incredibly stagnant; for every band that pushes the envelope the slightest bit, there's about a million billion coldplay/snow patrol/embrace/keane/morning runner clones. The current crop of popular British bands (Kaiser Chiefs, Maximo Park etc.) sound (and look) like they're trapped in the shadow of Britpop failures Menswear.
Enough ranting; congratulations to the band for breaking the top 5 here in the UK.

Exactly, if you see the crap that gets to the top over here (eg f#^king Crazy Frog ringtone) it's a great result.

Well, I think it's great they've reached number 4.
I was expecting them to just about make 20, it's a shame Tool are so underrated in the UK though.

Yay! Our charts finally show tool some proper respect! That means all those little kids in Slipknot hoodies are listening to tool now... will this spark a rebirth of the British music scene? increased attention spans, fewer democratically-elected-pseudo-celebrities-who-exist-only-to-make-money-off-the-readers-of the-sun, more hyphens,
the possibilities are endless....
But seriously, it's good news.

If you want Tool to top the billboard, send more money and "buy, buy ,buy, my new record." Do it. You owe it to the band that has changec your lives.

Yeah, number 4 in the UK here is pretty unexpected. I didn't even think they'd make Top 10. The album was even in fucking Tesco! I was so amazed and pleased :D

10KD Worldwide Debuts
I begin this post with the smug attitude that any fans would have, if they had to put up with my friends 'tool will never get to #1 in Australia' attitude.
He was so sure, hes always like 'tool are good, but they arent that good'
what a silly bastard...
Somehow I think I told you so quite doesnt cut it.
considering Lateralus debuted #1 on the billboard, what an idiot. ^^
so with great pleasure, from the front page:
'Well well. "10,000 Days" debuted at #1 on the Australian ARIA charts, and has been certified platinum Down Under as well (meaning 70,000 copies sold in its first week alone). Not bad.'

It's already gone platinum as well, which for NZ is over 15000 units sold. This was predictable, though. All those angsty white boys back home.
