This silent film follows the experiences of a black box, Jak, and the Genie that Jak finds inside of the black box. This all occurs after several illicit deals conducted on school grounds, of course...
I wrote, directed, and genied this project. Nick Weingartner (Co-Director and Orpheus from 'Why Clocks Suck') wrote and recorded the soundtrack for it. If you're looking for a laugh and some good music, this is the movie for you. It's about 6:30 long. Please give us your thoughts on it, we appreciate everything including hatemail!

Thanks for the feedback, I'm glad you liked it, even though it's Travis' product besides the music. Actually, he was the genie as well as the director, heh. I'll upload it to something...unless you want a high quality version, and then I'd have to send it by email through sendthisfile.com, which is probably the best way.
My brother told me that the director is the genie cuz he has the most passion in his role.
I was just lookin i right now...that acting is great...especialy the way he talks and the viewer must read from his lips.

And not to be advertising or anything, but if you liked that movie, you should check out our other movie, Why Clocks Suck. We posted it up here a while ago and I don't remember if you were one of the people to respond. Anyway, Why Clocks Suck was actually written and directed by me, Travis co-directed and starred in it. I also played Orpheus in it. Jak And The Genie, on the other hand, is all Travis' work besides the music. Anyway, here's Why Clocks Suck--oh, and don't be turned off by the fact that it's 18 minutes long.
Yea, Why Clocks Suck was pretty lengthy for its plot, but it'll make you laugh several times over. As Nick said before, he plays Orpheus and I play Jimmy Waterfront. My hair was much longer then than it is now. What a douchebag hippy I was.

Cool music video. It looks really professional. What program was used to edit it? I would hope you wouldn't be able to tell but I used a personal Panasonic camera for Jak and the Genie and Windows Movie Maker for the editing of it. I'd love to get my hands on some pro equipment for a movie. Even just for a short film.

Edited the whole thing...in a pro studio.
Today i am gonna be a camera guy for another video for "Bill Skins fifth"...

...there's a crowd and in the crowd there's a short guy that is ignored cause he is short-no one see's him.
Every one in the crowd is talking and eating somthing...
and on a time period they throw down half eaten food...
The short guy starts eating the left-overs and gets taller and fater.
in the end he looks at the crowd and tryes to talk to them-because he is tall he suposes that they will talk to him...but the crowd ignores him again because he is fat now.

Lol...I actually really like that. Would you mind if I ended up using it? I like the concept itself, but I'd probably have to change the technicalities of it(as in a guy gettin fatter and fatter). As you can see, my SFX only do so much. Thanks for the thought.

Heh, cool name, I'll be glad to have you in the credz. I've actually been to Macedonia in my travels here in Europe. I got this kickass knife over there. Go ahead and post the storyboard, I'll be glad to see it. I like having as many people involved as possible. Also, I'd like to get started on my next project as soon as possible. I've been working alot lately, so it's been pretty hard for me to come up with stuff. It's good to have people brainstorming with me. Send me what you have. :)

ok goosie...
here are the story boards...they are very simple...
i don't how they make them in america so i tried my best to make them as simple and understandable as possible...
i made the shots very basic...if you lke you can add some stuff...
i made them in two part pages...
i thought the title should be "ignore"...if you don't like it you can change it.
...hope i didn't made many mistakes in this.
Hope you film it and you'll put me in the credz. :)
P.S. this friday i'm going to an interview in the british council so i can be in a film making program...Wish me Luck :D
Hahahaha, I love it. It's so simple yet so effective. I'll credit you as the writer and storyboard artist, since this is completely yours. The storyboards were incredibly easy to understand and it was like I was watching the movie in my head. I got an idea for how we can make this movie do-able and stylish without SFX. Instead of actually showing the kid getting fat, I can have everyone in the movie wearing funny masks, and when he gets fat, he'll be wearing the same mask, just a different(larger) actor underneath. I'll start writing the script tonight. Thanks again, Martin, this is gonna be awesome. My real name's Travis Gosselin btw, but you can call me Goose if you'd like, alot of people do. Thanks! :)
P.S. Good luck with the film-making program, it's good to see fellow artists making some head-way in the world.

That's a great idea with the masks...it would be awesome if you can find masks like the killer in "heloween"...you know...just a plane old face.
when you make it please find a way to send it to me...but in higher quality...something like 30-40 mb...

Yea I'll keep you updated. I'll sell the idea to my team next week to see what they think. I'm thinkin theyll love it. But yea, I'll try to get at least the costuming done next week, if not the entire filming. In the meantime, I'll write the script.

The characters will wear masks right?
if they wear masks i think it would be very psuchadelic and interseting if they eat with their mouth but they talk with one hand...you know like sock-puppets...without the sock.
the litle guys emotional reactions can be presented through his hand gestures...the hand will talk and make faces...
i hope you know what i am talking about...and if you don't like it...then forget it.
P.S. I've made it in the british council...it was a hard competition...they choose four candidats from 10-20 potencial candidats,but i am in those four >:)...now i will learn and make more films :D
