Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
I sure hope that tool will do at least one more show in the washington/Oregon area! Every time i have seen them in seattle or at the gorge the shows have blown my mind! And i have seen TOOL all over the U.S. Us northwesterners need at least one more show!
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
Sonnyboy, I can't wait for an In and Out burger and Tool in LA. I sure hope they push the dates back I am pretty sure they will. I think the LA shows will be the last shows of the tour.

kisw.com (Seattle rock station) is already advertising Tool's return.
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
Mathew77 thanks 4 that update! i live in spokane and i cant listen to KISW! TOOL shows in seattle are the fucking best! TOOL loves seattle and maynard always has something to say! i can not fucking wait!
tool and deftones would be perfect.... absolutely perfect. the only thing that could possibly make that any better for me is if maynard brought up the apc bandmembers and played a full apc concert afterwards.

I've never seen a single thing for sale on Ticketmaster for the city of Austin. I usually buy tickets for Austin shows through either TicketWeb or StarTickets. Tickets for Tool's show are being sold through the venue's website

I guess it's very possible either way.
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
i just notcied that only people from the region are being allowed to buy tickets from ticketmaster for the NO show. they do it by credit card billing address. thats fucked up yo! i guess thats another way to fuck with online scalpers. thats cool n all, but it makes it hard for a brother to travel to a show.
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
Landed sec 119 for the show at Toyota Center --pretty bad ass tix on Maynard and Adams side of the stage --1 sec back from the stage ---looks like the floor is seating ---saw NIN there and its a good place to see a show!
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
just got pit tix to the austin show!!! i'm fuckin excited!
does anyone know how the pit area is at the frank erwin center?? i mean like how big is it and all that good stuff?

You bastard! (j/k) You got pit area? The pit area isn't that big but it is a moderate size. Last time TOOL played here I got pit area but this time I got Level A section 21 row 12 (same price as the pit area) oh well. Wanna trade? (j/K)
Why is there never any GA at shows anymore? It seems like ever since Dimebag got shot, that concerts have gotten really lame. I guess I will never be able to have as much fun at a tool show as I did back in the day.
yeah my bad i knew it was seated i just have this habit of still calling it pit. but i'm section 5 too! row 12 though. i was wondering how many rows there are for each section??... just to get an idea of how close i am.
i just hope there are no freakishly tall people in front of me.

Yeah. Right now I'm laughing because of the nearly 200 shows they will have played starting at Coachella last year, and ending this year, Saskatoon is the last (at least confirmed at this point) date, which is so freaking cool. Saskatoon's population is considerably less then even Tulsa's, as far as I know (it's got like 229,000 or so), and Saskatchewan is probably the least densely populated province in Canada (aside from the northern territories, where hardly anyone lives anyway). Anyway, it's pretty freaking cool, because a lot of "big" bands generally overlook that place. Too fucking cool.
Personally I'm glad there are no GA shows. No wait, to clarify, some outdoor GA-type venues aren't so bad. I thought the set up of the main stage at Bonnaroo was great because it was always possible to get almost as close as you wanted to for any act. But I much prefer having assigned seats on the floor of an arena. I wanna SEE and (most of all) HEAR, and not fend off a bunch of violent drunkards.

Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
I have heard rumors of opening bands ranging from the Mars Volta, Deftones, and AFI.
I have a feeling that these rumors are started by someone saying that they would want to see the band open for Tool and then a couple of threads down the line someone is sayig that that band is opeing for Tool.
Is there any validity in any of these rumors?
I myself would love to see the Mars Volta open for Tool but I doubt that would actually happen.
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
People speaking of Tool and Deftones touring, this is highly unlikely. Yes, this would be a dream show worth spending hundreds of dollars on, but it wont happen on this leg of their tour. Deftones just finished their pretty large tour and Chino is about to go on tour with Team Sleep, so its not going to happen. What a terrible rumor to start... because it would just be too good to be true. As for The Mars Volta, its possible. I mean they did tour with APC in 2004. We will just have to see what random bands are thrown on this leg. I mean for god sakes, at one point Tool had Melt Banana opening for them. It could be anyone.
I also noticed someone saying they heard a Seattle radio station talking about Tool's return, thats a very good sign. One of our stations here in Boise also mentioned something about them coming here "later this year." Im getting so anxious damnit! AHHHHHH

Dude, personally I feel pretty good about the notion of them playing in Boise. I was willing to drive down if they didn't play anywhere east or west of the Rockies here in Canada. Saskatoon is a hair larger than Boise methinks, but mind you, they haven't played Boise in quite some time have they?? I wouldn't rule out Missoula either. It seems like they're willing to play some of the smaller, western, less-played shows, and there IS a good two week gap between the Nov. 27th/"S'toon" show, and the previously-mentioned L.A. shows. Anyway, I hope you get your wish. If you haven't seen them live though ever, and they don't wind up playing Boise, seriously, make the fucking drive to wherever you must to see them!
I'd give it a week and I imagine all will be revealed.

Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
Go to www.kisw.com and they have a rotating banner that says info on TOOL coming soon. they have done this in the past when an upcoming TOOL show is in the works so i believe them
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
Wow, I almost had 6th row Floor B (center section) for the Houston show. I had to fill out some info for a new account and I got timed out. I've got a really slow internet connection, plus a keyboard that likes to skip some letters as I type. I was 3 seconds from clicking submit when I got timed out.
I still ended up with decent seats though. I'm in section 109, row 1. Would have loved to make the Austin show too, but I just don't have the cash for both shows right now.
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
I went to buy my tickets at Randall's and almost scored great tickets. For some strange reason person in charge didnt know the pin number to print out the sale needless to say I got timed out! :( I got crappy tickets, but i'm still damn happy i'm going again.

Ahh, the Pacific Northwest is gonna be burning in the midst of shitty winter weather with much Tool awesomeness! So I wonder what remains to be announced...

Alrighty boys, I have a question. I was wondering what is the best way to get tickets? I have done online the past few shows but I was thinking of going to the venue to try to purchase tickets this time around. So PLEASE I am up for all opinions on this matter. Muchos gracias amigos.

Online works fine, just make sure of a couple things:
1) Have a ticketmaster account set up BEFORE the on-sale date ( so you don't get timed out)
2) You MUST have a high-speed connection (if you are on dial-up go to a friend's house or the library)
3) Only have one browser open
4) Re-Fresh the the ticket page right when your computer clock turns the appropriate time
These shows are all pretty big venues so it shouldn't be much of a problem getting tickets, except maybe the LA dates.
